On a boat nothing last too long. These have good sound, separate tweeters. They last for years out in the elements. They will deteriorate over time, mainly the foam around the cone but still worth the purchase.

These speakers sound terrific in a marine application. I just replaced them on my Ranger Bass Boat - and Amazon's pricing is outstanding compared to some of the other online retailers. Solid bass and sweet highs - perfect for the water! Install was easy. Two things that will help you during install: 1) In drilling your holes for your speakers - start at a lower diameter ( smaller drill bit ) than Pioneer recommends so that the screws will tighten and adhere to the fiberglass. 2) The speaker connectors on the Pioneer speakers are not the same size for positive and negative ( another reviewer mentioned this as well below ). I crimped my existing speaker wire connectors with my pliers ( go slowly and take your time ) and made them smaller so that they would fit onto the Pioneers. Of course - you can always buy the smaller connectors and rewire as well. Hope this helps you - all in all - very worthwhile upgrade!P.S. One other thing that you need to remember ... when you evaluate how these really sound ... make sure you are using a high-quality music source - like a streaming service ( Spotify ) - or 'FLAC' like track if possible. FM radio will simply not do this justice. 'Garbage in - Garbage out' ... hope that helps!

I bought these and installed them in my bathroom ceiling. They performed well and are holding up well to the high levels of humidity from the shower. I marked them down because of the frequency response - the more acceptable rating would be 50-15000 Hz +/- 4db. They may be able to get to 30Hz, but you won't hear it. the mid and upper are acceptable. I bought them for the water resistance.

Great speakers and a great fit for my RV application. I replaced for VERY low end marine speakers that had totally disintegrated after only 3 years. I removed the old ones and installed these - they were about 1/8" deeper then my old ones so I had to cut out a wall backing to allow them to flush fit. They look and sound great.Note: Make sure you have ALL speakers amped if you have multiple pairs installed. My interior speakers are amped, while the external ones ARE NOT amped. There is NO way to balance the sound - it blares inside just to be at a decent level outside. Poor design by the RV manufacture. I will be finding a decent 2-channel amp to fix this problem.

Just bought a second pair. First pair I had for like 7 years. Not bad for boat application. Sound is good. Not the most efficient from a loudness standpoint. Obviously I must have been satisfied.

I had a pair of older Pioneer speakers listed as 6.5" on my boat that went bad after many years of faithful service. So I bought these as a direct replacement. Figuring with the very similar specs the would be ideal for an easy swap out. After a little struggle getting the holes to line up I broke out a tape measure and found the source of my troubles.The old speaker holes are 6.5" diam. The speaker cone itself is about 5 3/4" across the face.The dia. for the new ones are about 6" even. The cone face is about 5 1/4" across.So not only do the holes not line up, (which i didn't necessarily think they would - but hoped. More importantly the "6.5 inch speaker" isn't even big enough to straddle the previous cutout. I have to edge drill the fiberglass, just to wedge it in place with the screws. Not an attractive solution, or a long term one for that matter.I'm less than pleased with this, and not sure how Pioneer justifies selling a 6.5 inch speaker that doesn't measure 6.5" in any dimension.At the very least they should produce a consistent product over the years without shrinking their template. But more importantly than that, is the dishonesty of selling an undersized speaker for what their marketing suggests.All in all I'm not happy with these, and will purchase something else in the future, when these fail inevitably. They sound no better than the 15 year old model I replaced (before the rubber surround rotted out).

These speakers were the perfect replacement for my 6.5 ibch Sony XS-MP1621 speakers that crapped out after only 2.5 years on a boat that is kept covered when not in use. I'll never buy Sony speakers again. The pioneer speakers fit a 5 inch hole cut-out with ease and the smaller of the two bolt hole patterns match up perfectly to the holes from my sony speakers. Easy swap. The template on front if box is 5 inches, not sure why specs say cut-out is 5 1/8 inches. Either size works. Hope to get more than 2.5 years out of these. I don't love the grille style, but they sound good and they aren't Sony's.

I purchased these speakers 3 years ago and they are great. I talked to a few speaker experts and other boater friends and they all said Pioneer speakers are the way to go and they are right! After 3 years they sound like new and have held up well to the elements....cold winters, hot summers, and the occasional splash when cleaning the boat. They sound great, look great, and I wouldn't hesitate purchasing them again!

Altavoces de calidad, ya los tengo instalados suenan muy bien y muy fuerte, tienen muchos vatios, aun asi yo preferí ponerle una radio con menos vatios para que nunca esten al maximo y no se casquen. Los recomiendo, buena marca a buen precio.

We bought these speakers to replace the original ones on our boat. We have an updated pioneer stereo and we wanted the same speakers that were originally installed. The quality of sound from these speakers is amazing! We could have had 2 other speakers from a local stereo equip store that were more money but they didn't compare to these speakers with respect to the sound qualify. . We were so happy to find them on Amazon and the price was reasonable. We love them!! Thanks Amazon!
