Excellent Sight.
Bought this sight a month or so ago just to check it out because I did not understand these types of sights and wanted to compare it to some tube style red dots. I did not understand how any of the red dot/reflex type sights worked exactly so I began to acquire a few to practice with and compare. Now have two open red dots, like this one, and two tube style red dots. (I did not understand how any of the red dots could work without parallax problems, and still don't necessarily understand how parallax isn't a big problem, but I've tried four of them from the cheapest to the more expensive and they all work well.)All of these sights do not have any magnification, I suppose you'd call them fast-target-acquisition sights and all of them work extremely well with the tubed ones maybe being better for my preferences. But this sight, being very low cost but not cheaply made, is very fun and easy to work with, though the directions could have been printed clearer (I think you're supposed to loosen the back of the mount screw for elevation adjustments, was hard to tell with the directions). It has four different reticles, I tend to like the circle with the dot in the middle, and a built in Weaver-Picatinny mount. A fun sight with a built in mount for around $30, definitely worth a try if you have any interest at all.Got this sight going with no problems at all and it's really nice out to about 50 yards, I like some magnification after that. If you want to try one of these sights there is no better place to start. As far as I can tell, you can pay three to four times as much for the same sight, under different names, but the sight won't be any better and this is an excellent sight.

From a budget-minded competition pistol shooter
After shooting in Level 1 Production and Single Stack USPSA matches for the last two and half years, I wanted to try out the Open Division using a "race gun" (i.e., a highly tuned, accurate, and expensive pistol with an optical sight, recoil compensator, 28 round mags, etc). But I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars on a Burris or C-More red dot sight, nor hundreds more for a Docter Optic. So I thought I would give this UAG Tactical 4 Reticle Red Dot Open Reflex Sight a go (FYI: These EXACT same Chinese red dot sights are sold under many, many other brand names at many -- usually higher -- price points).PROS:1. I was impressed with the isolation platform that the Red Dot is placed upon, which helps mitigate some of the recoil and vibrations that might harm the unit.2. I was also impressed that, unlike some earlier low cost red dot sights, the red-emitting diode itself is not adjusted when you sight your weapon in for windage and elevation; only the isolation platform is actually shifted, which is a much sturdier and repeatable method.3. Very sturdily constructed of aluminum.4. The red dot at its brightest setting works just fine even when shooting on a bright summer's day.5. I liked it that green was NOT included with this sight, since I have found that green on low cost sights is useless, and far too dim to be useable.6. The selection of four different reticles is icing on the cake, and works great (I find that the cross reticle helps me find the dot much more quickly than just using the dot alone).7. The mounting screws and mounts seem sturdy, and did not strip-out as some low cost units do.8. The price is really low!CONS1. Parallax is always somewhat of an issue with low-cost sights, and probably always will be: While shooting, just try to maintain the red dot as close to the center of the sight as possible.2. There is a set screw directly beneath the "R" windage adjustment, with apparently no function. However, its purpose is as part of the suspension system for the sight, maintaining an even up/down movement of the red dot as it rides out the recoil, and is comprised of a set screw, spring, and a metal or nylon nubbin. But for some reason known only to the Chinese, they do not use Loctite on these threads. This will cause the entire assembly of set-screw, spring, and nubbin to fly off into the great unknown after a certain amount of shots. (In fact, most people who own these sights do not even know that this assembly is missing, and that only a threaded hole remains.) Do yourself a favour, and Loctite the set-screw and/or use finger nail polish on the outside of the set screw to force it to remain where it should be, which is in the sight and not spread out all over the range.CONCLUSION:If this sight keeps holding up to my 1911 9mm and my .22LRs pistols and rifles for another, say, five thousand rounds (and I see no reason it shouldn't), then I will be a happy camper indeed.

it was easy to install and I was able to zero it ...
Won't hold zero on M&P 15-22.After about 700 rounds, it started shooting high & right. I was unable to correct the elevation. The adjustment screw would turn, but it wold not click and the dot would not move up/down. The windage adjusting screw was functional, though. When it worked, it was easy to install and I was able to zero it to the point of 2" groups at 50 yards. It worked fine, until tonight.I am familiar with these optics, so it is not user error. This sight just broke.I'l be returning it for a refund and shopping for a different one. I guess you do really get what you pay for with these things.UPDATE: 12/12/14... I just heard back from the seller. They do not accept returns/exchanges beyond 30 days from purchase. From now on, if an item is not "sold & shipped" by Amazon, I will not buy it. I had this item less than 45 days. I wanted a refund, since I believe the sight is junk, but I would have been somewhat pleased with an exchange. Maybe the new one would last longer than the original. It's doubtful, but that would have been better than nothing.UPDATE: 1/8/15... I was ready to give up on this, but I contacted the seller again and explained that I really liked the sight, but was I disappointed that mine failed and that there was nothing that I could do to remedy the problem. The seller offered to send me a new one, free of charge and did not want me to return the defective one at my expense. He apologized for my inconvenience and told me that these types of failures are not common. The offer to ship a new one, completely at no cost to me, is great customer service. I am glad that I reached out to the seller again. They are great to do business with and the anomaly that I had back in December is not indicative of their customer service. Good seller. Great customer service, beyond the stated warranty!!!The new sight arrived today and I'll be testing it out this weekend! But, it looks perfectly fine. And, on this one, there are solid "clicks" when turning the windage & elevation screws. I am confident that this sight will function properly.
