FreeNAS Mini - (8TB) 4 Bay Compact NAS Storage with ZFS. 8-Core 2.4GHz Processor, 16GB RAM

I have been using this network attached storage device for about 2 years without any problems. After two years, a minor problem developed, and the iXsystems support was absolutely superb in furnishing a replacement part quickly and advising how to best replace the part. With their careful advice, I lost absolutely no data!! This is a well thought-out device, well engineered, easy to use and above all, highly reliable as an important back-up device upon which the user can rely. Equally important is the superb technical support this company offers—their technicial staff is extremely knowledgeable and very easy to work with. It would be hard to find a more reliable or easier to use product, particularly in this price range!

This is a great product, but when I upgraded to 10TB disks, I noticed the cooling suffers a lot. You really want the disks inside this thing to run below 40C and not the upper 50 degrees I was getting. I even upgraded the fan to a Noctua and still had the same issues. I am using a desk fan pointed at the front, and I have the case slightly cracked about 2 inches to get below 40C temperatures. You can use a web search engine to check if temps above 40C are what you want for your NAS that probably has your backups.

We purchased this to use as a central file server for a small architecture company. It's outstanding! Solid construction, easy to set up (we did hire a programmer to help us, but he didn't have any problems), works great, much less expensive than purchasing a Dell server which we were considering as the alternative, free accompanying software. It's compact, takes little space, doesn't require a server stand or large supporting shelf. Easy and affordable to add storage for active use and for backup. We love it!

It works great, tough to setup for a newb however lots of youtube videos that are very helpful (some times it is tough to find the video that is going to help, you just have to keep looking). Hardware is top of the line.

I've had no problems with this NAS. Now Net Neutrality is dead, I can run my own private cloud!

Excellent system - hardware and software. Does everything very nicely as it promised. When I need more storage I will definitely buy same system. Keep up the excellent work!

Quality system, comes ready to run, just slide in the disk modules and add electric power! They even included an Ethernet cable - who does that anymore?

iXsystems shipped this to me and I also purchased support. I connected it via iSCSI to a couple of FreeNAS boxes and it works like a charm!
