Easy to Install, Works Great
I'm writing this review a few months after installation and it's still making ice. It was super easy to install, probably a 10 minute job. I wish I would have purchased sooner. Our original was not working for about a year.

Works like the original in WRS571CIHZ01 refrigerator
I replaced the icemaker in my WRS571CIHZ01 refrigerator with this item, and so far it is working exactly like the original. Replacement was very easy. I will update this review if it stops working.

You have to RESET Fridge for it to work. (...wait for it...)
Glad I waited a year before writing review! I installed and was disappointed. It wasn't working. I checked and re-checked my work. I did it right. Damn. Must be something else. Oh well, I tried. I guess we'll buy ice because we aren't replacing a newish fridge for something we can pick up for $2 with groceries.Fast forward 7 months. I am told the kids were microwaving something. The AC in dining room was ON (same power circuit), and my wife flipped on the toaster oven. POP. You know. I was out of town and get a call, walk wife and 13 year old through resetting the breaker. A week later, I'm staring half-coherent into the freezer hoping for something amazing and edible to be there...when I see it. THE ICE BIN IS FULL!!!??? How did this...? I quickly connected the dots with the circuit breaker reset. I tell my wife SHE fixed the ice machine by tripping the breaker.Maybe it's there somewhere in the instructions, but I didn't see it. YOU HAVE TO RESET THE ENTIRE FRIDGE by unplugging for a few minutes then plugging in. Why didn't I think of that?

Will break, it's only a matter of time.
I'm now on my third ice maker since having my fridge. This unit has a crucial design flaw and it's the same broken part every single time. Don't even bother with this. It is an absolute piece of junk and you're better off with a countertop ice maker. Also, I intentionally purchased the extended warranty because I knew this would happen, and when it did, Asurion, Whirlpool, Amazon, and the seller all said it's the other one's responsibility, like that meme of three Spider-Men pointing at each other.

works really well.....
shipped fast... easy to install when you watch a few videos....take off the whole panel on door instead of trying to remove old maker with all still attached.... back in business and the replace part makes ice faster then the original.... the plastic tray on original cracked and tray could not be level to hold water.. hit OFF BUTTON as quick as you can to stop the water from draining to kitchen floor.... company had the right part and good for them !!! thank you...

Quick delivery and correct fit, however....
My original ice maker tray was stuck halfway from horizontal. Ordered this through Amazon and it came right away. One problem was there were no installation instructions. So I had to search the internet for installation videos. Once I found it, it was very easy to install. However, no ice was made. It's been 24 hours since I completed the installation. Is something else wrong or is it the unit itself. How can I determine what is wrong now?

Quiet Icemaker
The ice maker tray was hanging down in the bin. The old ice maker made loud noises since the refrigerator was new, I always knew when it made ice, you could hear it in the next room. Installed the new one by removing 4 screws on the cover, and 2 more on the unit and unplugging it(U-tube Video). It made ice slowly at first, then took a couple of days to start making ice like before. I replaced it on July 11, we will see how long this Genuine Whirlpool Part lasts.
