WARNING!!!! NOT BIODEGRADABLE.....PETROLEUM BASED BAGS!!!!!!!
Their description is extremely misleading. Sure, their packaging is "green" and "recyclable", but, their bags are just like any other plastic bag. Not biodegradable for compost. It doesn't matter that their twist ties are biodegradable!!!! What is that all about!???? Who cares about twist ties. For the sake of clarity, there are two very different types of biodegradable plastic. they are as follows:1 - Oxo-biodegradable plastic - made from polymers such as PE (polyethylene) PP (polypropylene) and PS (Polystyrene) containing extra ingredients (NOT heavy metals) and tested according to ASTM D6954 or BS8472 or AFNOR AC T51-808 to degrade and biodegrade in the open environment.and2 - Vegetable based plastics (also loosely knows as bio-plastics "bioplastics" or "compostable plastics") These are tested in accordance with ASTM D6400 or EN13432 to biodegrade in the special conditions found only in industrial composting or biogas facilities.

NOT BIODEGRADABLE
I would give this a negative star if I could. These are NOT biodegradable. Let me repeat. NOT BIODEGRADABLE. I did a search on biodegradable bags and up this one popped. The ties are biodegradable and the box it comes in is recyclable. Seriously? How does this help me to save the environment? Stupidly, I ordered 3 large boxes. I should have realized the price was too low. Anyway, I hope no one else is tricked into this purchase. I can't even return these because the month has passed. Super lame.

SUPER MISLEADING DESCRIPTION. THEY ARE NOT COMPOSTABLE.
product description is extremely misleading. If you read every review it will tell you these are just normal plastic bags, Not even very good ones but the product description focuses on the box they ship in "wow look we ship you a product in a cardboard box which is completely recyclable, awesome!!" seriously...Then again my fault for not reading the small print but they make such a big fuss out the packaging that makes you think you are buying compostable bags when you are not. I'd return this if I hadn't opened the box... I guess I'll use them for regular garbage but I needed compostable bags >_<

Misleading - not biodegradable bags!
I am so terribly disappointed by the misleading marketing of these bags. I have been purchasing biobags from Amazon for years, but suddenly they will no longer ship to California. I bought these bags as a substitute, to use with my compostable trash, only to find that they are regular plastic trash bags. I will have to ship them back and continue searching for a biodegradable kitchen sized trash bag.

but the bags themselves are neither of those things - they're just normal plastic garbage bags. While it is completely my fault
The packaging and listing for this product is very misleading - turns out that the BOX is 100% recyclable and the TWIST TIES are biodegradable, but the bags themselves are neither of those things - they're just normal plastic garbage bags. While it is completely my fault for not reading about this product more carefully, and the bags themselves are just fine, does anybody actually care about the material of the box or twist ties when buying garbage bags? This feels very intentionally labeled to make buyers think they're buying recyclable, biodegradable bags.

These are NOT COMPOSTABLE!!!?????!!! This is one of the top products that comes up when I search 'compost bag' on amazon. WTF????!!! I recieve these bags, the box doesn't say compostable, biodegradable or ANYTHING ABOUT THE BAG! All it says is that it comes with Biodegradable Twist Ties. . . AND these weren't even in the box! :( LAME LAME LAME.

Don't make the same mistake I did! These are NOT compostable!
Don't be fooled! You search for "compostable trash bags" and this item shows up as the first option. You order three boxes because it's such a good deal. The logo on the box looks very similar to the "Certified Compostable" logo. However, there is no logo on the individual bags and they are not compostable. The only thing that is compostable is the box. So don't throw the box away in one of the bags from the box, it will never compost. From now on, I will be looking a little closer at the product description. I only wish Amazon and "Green Legacy" would be more careful and upfront with their product categories.

Very Sad. I used to love this bag and now ...
I saw a post on the contents/ingredients of this plastic "Green Legacy" did my own research as well. Confirmed. Very Sad. I used to love this bag and now will tell ALL the folks I recommended to buy it to STOP. NOT worth what it does to our environment buyers and everyday people. Thanks Kelly for educating buyers.
