I like that it is instant setup, and worked as it should by just plug and play. I can put my own photos, videos, on screen, and Youtube and CW app programs. It seems much more limited in what it can show on screen than most others mentioned. Free programming through free apps won't necessarily play (Pluto TV is what I wanted on screen), but gives a blank screen with sound. Other free apps like CW can show programs with no problems. I thought free meant free, but apparently not. The device is just fine, it's all the contractual stuff behind the scenes which stops it from being as useful as it should be. I'm keeping it for use with Youtube, CW, and my own phone's pics, and any more things I might find that works. It's much quicker than plugging in my computer, booting up and connecting the hdmi from it to the tv, so because of the reasonable price I'm happy with keeping it. I would be VERY happy if it was allowed to show more content. Especially as I can already view the things I want on my phone and computer. It's a good product that's not allowed to do all it could if not for what I see as unreasonable constraints. Didn't know how to mark the 'value' stars, so I rated it in the middle at 3.

Bought this device for my sister's in-laws birthday a few weeks ago. After fiddling with it for the past week we have come to the conclusion that it is a defective unit. Another older HDMI adapter works just fine on the same new iPad Pro and TV. This device simply doesn't work. But alas the 30 day window for returns is now closed. Buyer beware. Who would have thought that the device would be defective.

I purchased this for one reason, to watch The Walking Dead purchased thru iTunes on a 52” TV instead of an iPad.Failed, this device will not play movies purchased thru iTunes! Returned and purchased an Apple HDMI adapter, it works..

Didn't work for a 6s or 10r, at all! Black screen, no input detected. Tried three different TVs and two different HDMI cables, and two different iPhones. Didn't work.

Requires you to download an app to work. Wants access to thing it has no reason to access. Could not get it to work with anything. Ended up just getting the apple brand adapter. It works with everything.

As in the headline, simply doesn't work, tried two different generations of iphone and one newer ipad. I spent the money for the official apple version of this, and that works just fine.

This item did not work ... I could not play video on my tv . Also when I hooked it to my phone it’s like my phone had a virus and started acting up . Would change my battery on my phone to 100% and freeze my phone and then I had to power my phone off and back on to get it to work
