The Swinger Manual Paperback – February 18, 2010

My wife and I are familiar with swinging and are active to the extent of considering it to be a lifestyle. Having read other books on this subject, some good, others not so good, we were wondering if there was really much more to be learned or anything that could actually surprise us. Well, there is and we were. Both of us regret that we did not have access to a book like this when we first discussed the possibilities of finding other married couples for partner exchange. We might have avoided some early mistakes and have been a little less puzzled by some of the situations we encountered.This book is organized into chapters that roughly follow a hypothetical time line for a prospective pair of swingers. So in addition to being stimulating it is easy to read. So in more than one small sense it is a how-to-do book. It also contains warnings for people who should really not be doing it. It would certainly be a good reference for mass-media journalists who so often incorrectly apply the label "swinger" to people in the news. It has a lot to say to beginners but also explains a lot to those who are experienced. There is no doubt that the author is speaking from experience and it all has a ring of truth.I like The Swinger Manual and I recommend without reservation to others.

I have read several other books on this subject. Most are biased in favor of this life style. This is the most comprehensive one I've read. It covers every aspect you could think of and some that might not occur to you. The book is broken into chapters, with each chapter or subsection prefaced with a discussion of the topic, followed by comments from people in the lifestyle giving their own viewpoint, even when their viewpoint contradicts the author's.The book is thorough and unbiased and should be considered a first read for couples considering this life style. The first few chapters cover the pros and cons, including the possible impact on a couple's relationship.

I read this book when it first came out a few years ago.Unquestionably, this book is a pleasurable, thoroughly comprehensive, and yet, an incredibly honest representation of swinging I've ever seen. Advice was given by several different writers with hundreds of years of swinging experience between them all, on her site. (TheSwingersBoard.com) Just Ask Julie was sharp enough to chronologically put these topics together, including the many different experiences and recommendations of those who post on her site. Advice is given with honest opinions of those who've lived through it.Swingers, as a whole, are usually seen as immoral, cheating or dishonest. Quite the contrary. They are honest, love their spouses with all their hearts and often try to talk people out of swinging if red-flags are there. Advice to fix their own marriage instead of seeking others is quite a common theme at the Swingers Board.If you're looking to start swinging, or even thinking about swinging, this book is very informative and gives rock solid advice to anyone, young or old. You can't go wrong with this book.

The book was fine. The premise ruined my marriage.

Good introduction to the many facets of opening relationships and Swinging, or more descriptively, sharing sexual activity in some form with others. If this interests you, read up and if your interest is piqued follow up to Julie's website, <swingersboard.com>. If a couple is involved, the book is a good reference for discussion, read it together just for fun or to decide where you want to go with your sharing. Copy Right is 2009, it is amazing how much more open male Bi relations are presenting at our club along with inclusion of MTF ladies in just 13 years. Again Julie's book is an excellent jumping off point, it is still in my drawer and fun to look back at.

I've been in the lifestyle for 5 years. I've read several books on swinging. This is one of my favorites. It's quite comprehensive and the quotes from the swinger's board are fun and relevant. It was well-organized and easy to read. I'd highly recommend it for new and experienced swingers!I have the e-version for the Kindle.

Very educational and comprehensive. If you're interested in Swinging this is the book to read. The information is pertinent and the participant testimony are indicative of real world lifestyle topics. This is what it's called " The Swingers Manual".

I like how it arrived discreet and safe.This book has a wealth of information.
