Mahmoud Reda is considered the pioneer of Egyptian dance in theatre and an important figure in the history of Egypt. He is a founder and the choreographer of the first Egyptian theatre dance company 'The Reda Troupe.' Thanks to his studies, creativity and incredible talent, historical dance forms have been preserved which otherwise would have been lost. To celebrate his 75th birthday, dancers from different countries performed a tribute in his honor as the gala event of the first Andalusia and Arabic Dance International Festival Raks Madrid '05, expressing their master's art faithfully, with elegance and emotion.

must have for Reda fans
Nesma always produces quality merchandise. I am always pleased with her products. This dvd is geared toward the serious egyptian dance student. I don't think newer students would get as much out of this dvd as an experienced dancer would simply because most "newbies" begin by learning american or western style bellydance and this dvd is all Mahmoud Reda, which can be confusing to decifer. Nesma has given us an excellent dvd from which we can study Reda's famous combinations and understand their place in the history of egyptian dance.

Very good selection.
Great homage to Mahmoud Reda, 14 choreographies.I would have appreciated to see an interview, photographs of his dancing career. a little documentary of his life.

A DVD for belly dancers and fans of Mahmoud Reda and his Reda Troupe
Really pleased with this DVD as I am a real fan of Mahmoud Reda. The quality and content is very good.
