Black light works and the white light is a reasonable brightness
Bought this at the same time as I bought a 2 pack of larger dedicated black lights. The black light on this showed the dye I used in my car coolant and dirt in a motel room just fine. It has only one black light LED so not nearly as bright as a dedicated black light flashlight with 52 LEDs but still works well. The white light is reasonably bright (at least with new batteries) and the front lens slides in and out to widen the beam or create a focused spot. In Spot mode it let me see leaves on a tree 50 feet away so it's reasonably strong. No, it does not compete with my friend's 2000 lumen flash light but is fine for regular use as a flashlight. You switch modes by pressing the button on the end. Each press puts it in a different mode. To get to black light mode you have have to go through 2 white light levels and the rapidly flashing white light. The rapid flashing light is fast so I find it annoying, but it certainly is visible.Casing is aluminum with a rubber button on the end. It has a belt clip built in and came with a strap. Uses 3 AAA batteries in a special holder and the whole thing fits in my hand comfortably with the end sticking out about an inch and a half. Feels solid. The zoom sleeve moves very easily.I would use this for walks in the woods at night, and I may take it sailing as an emergency man overboard light (I will not use it on the boat as it is too bright and would destroy night vision.) It now lives in my car door pocket.

UV light could be more powerful, but good overall
This is a great flashlight. I love that you can move the end in or out to adjust the size of the beam. It has 4 settings you can cycle through. Pressing the button slightly changes between them, or you can quickly turn it off and on. There are two normal lights, one bright and one less bright. Then there is the ultraviolet light, and a strobe light. The ultraviolet light works, but I wish it were brighter. We have a few cheap keychain-style UV lights that came with glow-in-the-dark toys, and they are MUCH more powerful.Overall, I’m very satisfied. I tumble rocks, and mainly use this light when I check them for cracks and holes, and when I take pictures of them.

Perfect!
I’ve been using this for about 2 years and I’m picking up another for my daughter to have her own. After reading some of these reviews about the brightness, I figured out my 21700 vape batteries fit it perfectly and it’s WAY brighter. Hasn’t caused any issues. Hope this helps anyone.

The bright ultraviolet light is perfect for seeing dirty surfaces.
I travel a lot so I bought this flashlight because it is a 2-in-1 function light. I needed the bright white light as a hotel survival light in case there is a fire and/or the power goes out and I have to evacuate the hotel, etc. Also, as soon as I enter a new hotel room for the night I wipe and clean all surfaces that I plan to touch such as door knobs, light switches, TV remotes, table surfaces, bathroom fixtures, door placards, closet hangers, the safe buttons, microwave buttons, drape handles, toilet seat, HVAC controls, etc. I did this way before the virus hit, and why? Because the maids use the same dirty rag to wipe down all the rooms she/he did all day before my room. And now, with this this ultraviolet flashlight I can see dirt and contamination left behind on surfaces. The contaminants show up in the ultraviolet light like a black light party from the 1960s. Now it is up to you whether you want to shine it on the bed sheets and the bed cover. I like to know if I’m sleeping on anything undesirable and I have requested fresh replacement sheets as well as a washed bed cover, just to let you know. But if you just cleaned your kitchen and it looks spic-and-span you just may be surprised after shining this ultraviolet flashlight in the kitchen to see just how well you did.So this little flashlight is very bright for the white light and is adequate for the ultraviolet light during the day, but very adequate for the ultraviolet flashlight at night. It is a great value.

Great UV/Flashing/Flashlight.. With one issue!
I like this little flashlight, for the most part. It is very well made and sturdy. It has an extremely bright light/flashing light and UV light. Fits in my handbag nicely and in my crafts drawer, as I use mine primarily for fast curing my UV Resin projects. It is really handy for tacking before I put my project under the large UV lamp. I like the adjusting lens, which allows you to pinpoint an area if you need to focus more light. If there was one drawback (actually a pretty big one for me): It is tricky to switch from regular flashlight to the other options (flashing and UV). All of the features are controlled by the ON/OFF switch. After you thumb punch the "ON" button on the end of the flashlight, you have to carefully ,PARTIALLY push it in again to get the flashing light to come on THEN you have to CAREFULLY, PARTIALLY push it again to get to the UV light. If you push it in too much, it will turn it off. It is still a great little light, however that was a TERRIBLE DESIGN IDEA. To be honest, I am not entirely sure I would buy this one again if there was a different option regarding the light switch.
