Best replacement
Drop in replacement for my old filament bulb. Much brighter, I like it. A lot!

Great!
Works perfectly in my DD Maglite flashlight.

Dim or flickering? Try this!
I was at the point of returning this because the bulb was flickering with low light level. Long story short: the little solder nib on the bottom of the bulb that makes contact is made out of low lead nor no lead solder. Its harder and doesn't deform to make contact like older softer lead solder. I took a emery board and slightly flattened out the solder nib. The bulb has good contact now and is bright and steady. I estimate it is about three times brighter than the stock bulb.

The Numbers
Before I got these I looked for this info but couldn't find any.Electrical power requirementsI used a variable DC power supply to run the lights at 3.0V, 2.8V,and 2.6V, and measured the current required and calculated the power. For a comparison, I also did the same with the original Maglite (2 C cell) 'Krypton' bulb. At 3V, the Krypton was .76A for 2.3W, the 2 LED's were about .35A or 1W. At 2.8V, Krypton was .74A or 2.1W and LED's were .14A and .4W. At 2.6V, Krypton was .71A and 1.9W, but the LED were only 5 to 10 mA and very dim - essentially no useful light output.Light OutputI don't have the equipment needed to measure actual luminosity, so I did a comparison between the three bulbs. I used the flashlight to illuminate a white piece of paper, and used a camera to measure the shutter speed necessary for the correct exposure (using the same ISO & aperture). The LED's were about 4 times brighter than the Krypton at 3.0V, and roughly 2 to 2.5 times brighter at 2.8V.ConclusionI have no idea how TRLIFE came up with the 3W Power they specify, but these bulbs are clearly brighter than the Krypton (or at least they are when the battery voltage is high enough) and use less electrical power. And of course their color temperature is quite a bit higher for a "whiter" light. So far, I'm quite pleased with them.

Worth the upgrade
It was a very good upgrade on my old-school maglite. It saved battery life due to being an led and lit up a good amount of area when compared to the original. Super easy install and it looks original. I have a larger size light and it fit perfectly. Good buy worth the money.

Wow!
I have two metal maglite flashlights I have owned for almost twenty years. I bought them because they were tough looking and frankly impressive. However, the light beams were very dim so they sat on a shelf and workbench looking impressive but were rarely used. I recently purchased a cheap plastic flashlight with an LED bulb and was very impressed. I then found the Trlife replacement Maglite LED bulb. Now my impressive Maglite flashlights actual put out an equally impressive beam. Hope the bulbs last as long as the original bulbs.

Not very bright, even compared to the stock bulb.
The bulb was easy to install, unfortunately it's not very bright. It's not really brighter than the stock bulb, but the color temperature is higher (white light instead of yellow light). I have a few of those small LED flashlights that use AAA batteries. I have one that uses 4 AAA batteries and is listed as 350 lumens. This little flashlight is MUCH brighter than the Maglight with this replacement bulb. I also have another small LED flashlight that only uses 3 AAA batteries. It's much dimmer (lumens unknown), and is pretty close to the brightness of the Maglight. It is still a useful brightness. It's not great for outdoor but if you are going through your garage or your closet, or walking through your house at night, it's a nice brightness. The brighter LED flashlights can be almost blinding when used up-close like that. Also, the bulb seems to use much less power than the stock bulb. I did a test using two D batteries that were almost dead, to the point where the filament in the stock bulb would barely light up. With the LED bulb the flashlight worked at normal brightness. That pretty much proves that this bulb uses less power. Batteries should last a very long time, compared to the stock bulb.

Is a led light is bright
Is a good lightbulb but too pricey
