Olympia Tools 65-504 Wood Grenade Patented Diamond Shape Splitting Wedge

I split a lot of wood, and this does not work as well as a wedge. It works well for little logs, but just got stuck on big-knotty logs. I am still young and can swing a splitting maul with enough force to split most logs. As I get older and lose strength this could be handy. I say this because it is really, really easy to start in the wood. You can just drop it from a foot above the log and it sticks there waiting to be hit with your sledge or maul butt. It is much, much easier to start than a wedge. It just didn't split the really tough stuff, and the easier logs I don't need the help. (for now)

I love these "grenades" for splitting wood, but these need sharper points; the blunt points allow the wedge to bounce out of the wood after striking with a sledgehammer.

Those little ridges don't do it for me. The wedge squirts out of the wood more easily than a plain steel wedge or Estwing's excellent wedge. For a really tough log, where I need the crack held open, I have taken to driving a wooden wedge or stake in and leapfrogging my Estwing or my plain steel wedge to continue the split. This wedge doesn't get used, for the most part.

No sabía de su exixtencia, lo encontre por casualidad y la verdad una vez que lo he probado, me parece de una efectividad estupenda, ya que con un pequeño golpe para clavarlo y un par de llos mas con un poco mas de intensidad, zas tronco abierto. Esto sucede empleado uan simple mazeta de mano, no quiero ni pensart como la hría con una maza de mango largo.

Para trabajos de partir algún tronco en casa va perfectamente ,con un golpe si esta bien puesta en la veta parte muy bien al menos el pino
