D.R. Harris & Co. Ltd., Windsor Shave Stick, 40 Gram

These shaving sticks by D.R. Harris are top quality soap in a great looking package. I love the Marlborough scent, Lavender is nice, Arlington has grown on me, but this stick upon the first 4 uses had almost no scent. I originally dinged it two stars for that. These D.R. Harris soaps are hard, so you have to put some water in the cap and let it soak for 5+ minutes while you shower. After 4 or 5 days the scent finally opened up and the soap's performance improved. I “bloom” all hard soaps, but for some reason this soap took a few days longer than the other scents to open up. I searched on a shaving forum (Badger & Blade) and learned to be patient for a few days. It paid off. Excellent cushion, glide and post-shave feel. Sometimes I wash my face with this soap just to smell it for a while afterwards.

The scent is really amazing: Grapefruit, Vetiver, and Black Pepper. It lingers for an hour or two after the shave. The lather is lush and slick. The stick is perfectly compact for travel. My only complaint is that the twist dial only pushes the stick up. I need to use my finger to push the soap down in order to replace the cap. Then my finger smells like this soap...which isn't such a bad thing...except when people notice me smelling my finger...

This shaving cream is amazing. I bought it for travel, and when I travel I always have a smoother shave than when at home. I use the same razors (feather), the same blades (also feather), and the same brush, so the only difference is the lather. Advantage D. R. Harris.

Really smooth and the roll-up tube is easier to use than the ones wrapped in foil.

For the price you expect better performance, I would like to use arko shaving stick instead

The screw mechanism doesn’t work so you can’t extend the soap as it wears down. Rubbish product.
