I've been using these for the past two years and find them invaluable. My one complaint is that at the start and near the end of the books, it's very difficult to draw characters close to the binding. They really should be bound at the top like the practice books I've seen in China.

This is a great journal for elementary school kids. The grid is much larger and works well for my son. The other lavendar book by Meiyuan Publishing on Amazon is nice as well.. but the grid is too small, and more suitable for older students. He doesn't have to carry this book daily to school, it's more for writing at home... and we've put it to good use for his practice drill writing for chinese.

Overall this is a great notebook with quality paper. However the only thing that really frustrate me is how difficult it is to write on the beginnings left pages. It’s especially difficult to write in the last column of every left sided pages. Also since the book is pretty thick, it makes it hard to bend the notebook.

Good grade of paper for the pages but to be safe I use a pencil. Two hundred pages printed front and back.The spine is holding up well. Good value for the money. The quality of the practice book enhances the pleasure of learning Chinese characters.

Paper quality is good. Thicker than papers for printer. The size of grids are larger than I expected, I attached a picture side by side with a standard caligraphy book (also bought on Amazon). Not necessarily a bad thing but worth noting.

Saves my daughter from having to make her own practice pages from graph paper. I am sure it will be a hit with the other students in her class.

The grids are quite large which could be good for beginner. Good quality paper.

Lots of pages, thick binding and decent weight paper. Will buy again!
