1st I will say that I am sick of the paid reviews that I can't trust.2nd I purchased this light but was going to return it because we can't see anything left from our dog so I thought it didn't work. However, after reading another reviewer say that he used it in his bathrooms, I just used it in my teenage boys bathroom and WOW it is horrific. I am now keeping the light to use to check how well they are going to clean that disgusting bathroom.3rd I confirmed that my dog is perfect and my kids are gross!

I almost wish I hadn't bought this (really, not really). I now have a nightly ritual of going into my back yard to hunt scorpions, and I come in with my skin crawling. I live in Las Vegas and we have some of the nastiest (aka dangerous) scorpions in the country. I was shocked at how they light right up. There is no overlooking the scorpions when the black light is on (they are completely camouflaged with regular lighting). Check out some of the pictures I took. One is with the camera flash, the other is no flash under the black light. No photo shop - this is exactly what the buggers look like under the black light.Oh and bonus, I found out one of the dogs lifted his leg on my recliner. Thanks a lot, Oscar, you jerk.P.S. I tried the glasses that came with the light and they don't really make a difference. You don't need them at all. I don't even know where they are now. I bet Oscar took them. Jerk.

most effective urine detection flashlight I've used. We've got a 6 month old cocker spaniel that has been peeing in our bedroom during the night. I would smell the carpet and not be able to find the mess, but could still smell it in the room. It was getting bad. Once it got dark outside, I used this flashlight with the glasses (some say no need for the glasses, but I disagree - they made it a much more pronounced glow) and was able to spot the trouble spots immediately. There were quite a few of them all in the same area near the door.I'd also like to share the best remedy I've found for treating pet urine. I've used all sorts of shampoos and enzymes and this works best for me. Soak up as much straight urine as possible right off the bat. If it's dried, take 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water and soak the stain. let sit for 10 minutes or so then take and soak up all the liquid that you can using multiple dry towels till no more liquid will come up. coat the area in baking soda and let dry for 1 or 2 hours. Vacuum up. I've also heard of doing it the other way around, but found that getting the baking soda too wet, made it a nightmare to get out of your carpet. If it still smells or shows up with black light repeat - also, DO NOT use hot water! Always use cold water when dealing with urine. I learned all this the hard way, let me save you some headaches.

Pretty strong light for being UV. I have an older uv flashlight of the same wavelength that is nowhere near bright as this. 395 nm is the usual 'consumer' wavelength sold for common uses.There is no 'one-size-fits-all' wavelength, so don't expect CSI results with this. Different specialties require different wavelengths, and some lights include filters to remove undesirable ones, to narrow the wavelength of what the flashlight emits. There is always some overlap of wavelengths of different UV bulbs. The LEDs on my computer case fan actually emit some UV, but it gets washed out by more visible light from the same bulbs.The included glasses are not only to help protect your eyes but to provide more contrast. I bought this light along with UV leak detector fluid to diagnose my car's A/C. This light is do bright I probably won't need the glasses to spot them.

I have rescued 6 kittens just at the beginning of the winter and I recently found out that someone had elected to pee in an alternative location (meaning outside the litter box) and I just could not keep up with all the new spots. This flashlight is a God send! Absolutely perfect. Now I can find the “pot of gold” without effort and clean it up before it becomes a favorite for my rebels. The yellow glasses can be a real plus depending on the materials you are inspecting. When you look at a dry wall or at a fabric object you have to test if the glasses help or not. Definitely useful to have for scrutiny. Sturdy but light metal case, very comfortable in the hand. The price is awesome too. Even without messy kittens, recommended if you want to know how dirty your walls are! I was surprised, my floor was pretty neat and my walls were a disaster... honestly I cannot remember when I cleaned them last... they “looked clean”. I can’t wait to take this on my next hotel stay! But then, I probably will end up traveling with a sleeping bag to any hotel after that ;)

I bought this based on its good reviews, and it did not disappoint. The light feels like a quality thing, including the switch. Its plenty bright, so much so that sometimes you don't want to shine the light directly on something so you can see it better. The light came with 3 new Duracell batteries, but they were made in China. They work fine so far.Yes, you can see everything. Yes, you will be horrified to see how dirty your house really is. And not just carpet. I see liquids running down my kitchen cabinets. Those spots in my carpet where I used Resolve carpet cleaner and sucked it up with a wet dry vac, but didn't rinse the slot out with water too ended up glowing bright white. I'll post lots of pics.Pee shows up bright yellow. Cat puke shows up easier to see, but doesn't really glow. Old spots show up dull yellow. During the day, the yellow glasses that came with it offset the purple lighting, making the flashlight look like daylight. At night, you can see spots better without the glasses, or put them on and its like daylight. The glasses could make it easier to see in some situations, and harder in others.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this light one bit. It seems to work just fine, and feels well built. And the dozen or so bills I spent buying it seem very reasonable, especially with free Amazon Prime 2 day shipping. Buy it!!!

This is a great quality UV light - compact and relatively powerful!I use it as a stain remover. UV is effective for some stains such as curry (turmeric) and also tomato based sauces which proves very difficult to remove. I've found that if you expose these stains to sunshine within several hours it will remove them completely. Sunshine isn't always available when or where I need it and this torch works for that purpose perfectly. For a small spot, 5 to 10 minutes and the stain is gone!

I bought this for demonstrating fluorescence of some bio- products under UV light. The torch is very good and has excellent luminescence.Fantastic performance. Portability and Easy to operate as well as safe battery operation compared to old Black lights with mains operation.

I don’t really use the goggles but they might be handy someday. I’ve never seen a device that will show marks, dust and stains around the whole house as this one does. A friend asked me where he could get one from because he also thought it was great.

Great size UV flashlight that is very useful to find stains.The only drawback would be the 3 AA batteries that are required, but I managed to fit a 26650 battery inside which although is a tighter fit, you get a much brighter torch and longer battery life.

Worked well for watching my scorpions :)
