This grinder is just delightful. I bought it just over a month ago because I wanted a grinder with a receptacle that I could use for my fancy schmancy peppercorns, and this thing turned out to be perfect. I noticed a lot of other reviewers had some specific complaints, which I think are worth addressing:1. Size: Yes, it’s small. You can pretty clearly see that in the product photos. I personally have pretty big hands, and I have no problem holding this. I can also walk and chew gum at the same time. Yes, the opening to fill it is small (again, just like in the photos). That’s why it comes with an adorable yet functional scoop. As long as your hands aren’t shaking from too many wine coolers last night, you should have no trouble loading it. It can hold a decent amount, but yeah you’ll have to refill it more often than your Costco grinder. I like to load just enough for each use so that I can switch up my peppercorns as I go.2. Construction: Yes! The bottom comes off! That’s what it’s supposed to do. You know, so you can get to that pepper that you just ground. Just support the bottom while you’re grinding, and you’ll be fine. I myself just hold it so that I can brace the bottom with my ring and pinky fingers, and have never had a problem with spillage.Bottom line is that this is a wonderful little grinder. It looks great on my counter, and is perfectly functional for my needs. It would make a great gift for others or for yourself.

So excited to see this when it arrived. Instructions were to clean it by grinding rice before use. I thought this was a great idea but we ground rice for 10 minutes and the ground rice was gray and so was the unground rice we poured out when we gave up. It wasn't the easiest to grind but maybe just black pepper and in small portions it would be fine. I'd buy it again if all the machining or finishing residue was dealt with.The packaging said it was made in California, the product picture says Made in Europe.

The actual grinder is half of the size, the bottom part is a cup.It's very pretty and well made of solid material.This grinder is too small for cooking and I was still thinking of keeping it BUT the one that I got it was grinding the pepper and the pepper was not falling into it's bowl !!!!!It says to adjust the nail on the top......it just annoyed me and I returned it.

The grinder arrived quickly and I was surprised at how small it was. It matches the description, but for some reason, it looks really small to me. However, I'm not giving it 4 stars because of this. I love the way it looks and it seems functional enough - however, it doesn't really work on things that are too small or too large. Smaller spices that I wanted ground up even smaller (like thyme or fennel seeds) are small enough that they slip right through the part that's supposed to grind them, so I guess you would need something finer. Larger things I put into it, like leaves, were too large and not heavy enough to actually fall down into the part that grinds it, so I ended up pulling them back out the top. I suppose I just wanted to test what it's capable of. I assume it works great for pepper, but mine is mostly for decoration, so I'll be keeping it and it's really cute on my witchcraft herb shelf.

Item arrived early. Works as intended, and looks as described. The bottom is great when you need to measure ground pepper for a recipe. The grinder works well, I adjusted it a few times, not a real notable difference in fineness, I prefer it medium and that is how mine works mostly.

It’s not easy to refill. It’s really small, and it doesn’t really grind but rather chops pepper. As far as I could tell, you cannot adjust the grind size. I instantly returned it because it’s not what I was looking for. It may be ok for the dining table but I needed a good grinder for the kitchen to cook and prepare meals with and this was not what I was looking for. It looks pretty though! It’s great for display or light use but not for everyday.

Good value and good-looking pepper grinder in traditional Turkish design. Last time I purchased one of these had to fly to Istanbul, so this is much more convenient. Base that collects ground pepper is not perfect fit but good enough.

The grinder is beautiful and the little spoon that comes with it such a lovely touch. It is lovely to see it alongside my spice rack or on my meal table. This is a small device. I have arthritis in my dominant hand. Gripping securely enough for the initial stiffness of the grind, can be an issue. This is more because of my medical condition, than a design flaw. The grind is definitely stiff and it was hard for the first few uses, but it does get smoother. I am using it for fresh ground black pepper. I am thinking of buying another in a different finish for grinding coarse salt.
