i-SPY Nature
This is number 4 in the i-SPY series of books from Collins, it's an ideal size to slip inside your coat pocket or bag when you're out and about. If you've not used an i-SPY book before the idea is that when you go out you look out for and spot various things - depending on the theme of the book. Easy spots get fewer points and harder spots get more - for example in this Nature book common nettle will earn 5 points and a grey seal spot will get you 30 points. When you have 1000 points you can fill in a request for a certificate on the Collins website.Sections in this book include - above your head; forests, woods and hedges; traces of the past; down by the sea; mountains and moorland; rivers and ponds; town and country animals; bugs and insects; butterflies and moths.Being familiar with geological landscape features might be a help with this book as the spots include (among others) - limestone pavement, roche moutonnee and sea arch.Overall - a great entry into the series and an excellent way of encouraging children to get outside.

Introduce children to nature
I remember enjoying these as a child. Good to see they are still available.More than ever needed, to bring our childrens attention to the natural world around them. Get them out observing!

Love the I Spy Books, really good during school holidays to entertain the children. My granddaughter is 5 and loves them all.

Learning is fun.
My granddaughter is three and loves being out and about looking at nature. This was a great book for her - nice small size, lots of photos and she loves getting the points. Also she learns a wee bit from the information provided. A good start to her education and lots of fun at the same time.
