Probably Overkill, Some Advantages
I brought this to wear the day or two after delivery and was glad I did. It's fun for photos, loose and has convenient double snap shoulders for nursing. Only comments are I like that it's cotton but I just wish it were softer or stonewashed first as the crisp cotton was a bit rough. Also wish it had a breast or side pocket or two. Also wish it had some sort of tie at each shoulder or around the neck like a nursing bra does so when all snaps are let down for feeding it doesn't completely fall off- I kept losing the back part so it was pretty awkward and frustrating to put back on especially with limited mobility. I did end up wearing for just a few days even after home from hospital but was more comfortable when I changed into knit jersey clothes and although the pattern is fun I still felt frumpy slob wearing it because it's like a huge loose sack. I did get compliments from a nurse who asked if I bought it on Etsy. I guess I'm glad I bought it since I didn't care if it got ruined since I won't wear it again unless I have another hospital stay however I do think it's overpriced for what it is and probably unnecessary. It did lift my mood slightly though as those hospital gowns are so very drab. Also this does cover you in back whereas the hospital gowns are open so less drafty and more modest so if you plan to have family come visit like dads or brothers or whatnot you might feel more comfortable however a robe would serve the same purpose.
