- MONTESSORI: The Montessori Pink Tower has a set of 10 wooden pink cubes of different sizes, from 1cm up to 10cm in increments of 1cm. The work is designed to provide the child with a concept of 'big' and 'small'.
- VISUAL DISCRIMINATION: Helps develop visual discrimination of three linear dimensions: length, height, width. The control of error is visual. The child sees the cubes are in the wrong order and knows that they should fix them. The child starts with the largest cube and puts the second-largest cube on top of it. This continues until all ten cubes are stacked on top of each other.
- EDUCATIONAL: It helps children understand the perception of dimension leading to an abstract understanding of size and prepares them for mathematics, in particular the concepts in the decimal system, geometry and volume. It also indirectly helps to prepare them for writing as well as coordination of movement and helps the fingers to hold a pencil.
