I have no electrical experience but decided to try to swap out a wall mounted hardwired EV charger connected to a 60 amp circuit to that was defective - and I decided to trust this device with my life.After touching the plastic tip on this device to a few cords around the house (lamp, power strip etc) and seeing the red light indicate power was detected, it seemed to be doing its job. I did the same on the insulated wires of my EV charger and saw the same light, heard the same beep. Then I shut off the breaker and retested. No light / no beep… Then I rechecked the power strip on my workbench and again saw the red light. So once I double checked that the tester was in fact working, the breaker was off and no power was detected on the EV wires, I felt confident in moving forward with the install. And I lived to tell about it! Very happy with my purchase.

Very easy to use. Put a battery in it. Turn it on and touch to a wire. If you work with electrical this is a must. Very simple, easy, fast way to save you from getting shocked or shorting a line. Cheap insurance.

Klein tools are great, as is this one..

Not as sensitive as my previous Fluke inductive probe. Fluke would trigger in the vicinity of a hot wire. This requires inserting into the outlet itself. Still inductive, zero contact, but not quite as sensitive.

Works good likes it supposed. For the price it’s a great buy in my opinion.

klien just makes nice stuff.. this is probably one of the more delicate of the klien tools i own. .but still for the price.. for the functionality.. this is nice stuff.
