Good cutting same blade as more expensive
There are other versions with nicer handles. This one surely cuts just as well and the white plastic handle works well. Buy this one and save some money.

Arrived on time and in excellent condition
This knife is very sharp and has kept it's edge. I bought it because of an America's Test Kitchen review after they tested serrated blades used to slice baked goods. Turns out the number of serrations is important to getting a clean slice versus a torn crumbly slice.

Wonderful
Oh my goodness, be careful! This knife is soooo sharp. Makes cuttings bagels (like a hot knife cutting thru butter)! The edge is slightly serrated but very thin. Cutting thru thick loaves of a heavy sourdough bread is so much easier, you don’t have to “Saw”. This is an eleven in blade with a perfect size ergonomic handle. It comes with a thin plastic sheath but I ordered a Mercer knife sheath to protect it in the drawer and to protect me from accidentally getting cut. I never put it in the dishwasher, I wash with a bit of soap & water, dry it off and put it back into the sheath. This knife was extremely affordable and I highly recommend.

Great Value for a BRISKET Slicer!
I love to smoke brisket…and am a smoked brisket connoisseur. I go Texas style…simple…50/50 salt and pepper blend…apple juice spritz…over oak splits on an offset smoker…running low and slow at 225-250…Aaron Franklin method. When done right you end up with the most flavorful and moist brisket this side of heaven. Which is where this Mercer Culinary Ultimate White 11” slicer comes in handy. It cuts really well and smooth…not a lot of sawing with this knife. I like to cut where the flat meats the point and stack up these delectable slabs of brisket and watch the juices slowly waterfall down the cut…it’s a thing of beauty. This knife feels good in the hand…not too large…I may end up ordering the 13” of the same brand in the future.

Dangerously sharp!
This is a great bread knife! I use it to cut through artisanal sourdough bread because none of the bread knives I had would saw through that crunchy crust. IT IS VERY VERY VERY SHARP! You have been warned. I’ve cut my finger with it without even feeling it because it’s that sharp! So buyer beware! That’s not a bad thing in my opinion. I’m in the school of thought that sharp knives cause less damage than dull ones when it comes to kitchen injuries.I’m a serious about my kitchen knives and I’ve paid a lot for some of them. I didn’t have high hopes for this bread knife though because it was inexpensive. It’s the perfect weight for a long bread knife and it’s balanced which is also an unusual thing for a cheap knife.I can’t say how long it will last but it seems like it will last a long time. Even if it doesn’t it’s not a bad price to replace.

Can't beat it for the price
I bought one of these and a boning knife to replace a 9 inch slicer that I kept for smaller jobs than brisket and an old filet knife that I was using to trim. The grip is comfortable in my hand and it's dishwasher safe. That's more important for the boning knife than this one, but I like that I can put it in the washer if I want to sanitize it. The edge was sharp enough to go through the 1st brisket I made really well. I was able to get nice clean cuts without the knife shredding my meat because of the bark thickness and/or dull edge. Only used it once so I can't speak for durability, but so far it's cut great and I think it's a great value at the price.

rarely am I so impressed by a knife of this cost
Knife is 11" from bottom base of handle to outside round of blade. However the cutting surface is 10". So feeling is of a 10" knife.Very surprised. In pretty much every way.1. handle quality is surprisingly good and feels comfortable in the hand.2. edge is sharp and serrations are pronounced. Tried cutting bread, and it does a pretty good job at cutting cleanly through hard crust and without tearing up the inside of the bread... But I haven't tried meat (yet).3. was very pleasantly surprised that this is 3/4 tang and not just 1/2 or 1/4 tang as I was expecting for a knife of this price. (picture shows a magnet where steel in handle ends)If you wonder why this is such a big deal... it means the handle won't break in half if you apply some pressure in your cut (even though you wouldn't need to for a slicing knife... but still that a good build). Some cheap knives the handle tends to break where the tang ends... which is a big problem for 1/4 tang knives.4. well balanced5. Serration style can be honed, or sharpened with a round hone or sharpener. Now this is a low end steel, so if you are cutting a lot of hard crusts then expect that you will have to maintain the edge on this knife with a sharpener rod.

Sharp and wonderful !!!
I tried more than a few and nothing satisfied me, until I bought this one, cheaper, better, longer and sharper ... reminding me that one special long&sharp bread knife the bakeries used when I was young and when they still didn't have the bread slicing machine. I have to say, this is the best bread cutter I ever bought over the years ... great value!!!Above all, it is a lot easier, quicker and cleaner than using my slicing machine, without all that trouble of pulling out the heavy machine, plugging the power, cleaning the machine and putting it away afterwards. But just be careful with the knife when cutting through your loaf of bread ... it is a lot sharper than you think.
