Brillant ice machine
The media could not be loaded. Our last under counter ice machine was a Scotsman and cost £1500 with the vat for the same sized machine and died after 3 years which an estimated repair bill of £700 plus labour so we decided to simply replace it with a new model. We purchased this with low expectations, it costs 5 times less and with a 2 year warranty seemed a worthwhile risk. So far its been brillant, makes more ice than the Scotsman ever did and is easy to clean, maintain and low on the electric consumption. Its water cooled which means our back bar isnt boiling hot as it puts out very little heat, the water usage is still low and as a benefit is quieter which was a surprise.Overall we have to say we have no regrets, and would highly recommend it.A few points to help y'all out, while they say 86kg daily, expect around 50kg a day, and that the ice storage is only around 15kg, which for us isn't a problem as it bangs our ice almost immediately to replace what we are using every 15 minutes on its cycle. Its waste pipe it comes with is also lacking, it works but we bought a cheap replacement washing machine waste pipe on amazon for £5 which was much more robust. You'll also need an adapter for the water inlet if like us you standard washing machine adaptor that most ice machines do, if its a new install it comes with an adaptor for a standard shut off valve (15mm not 1/2 inch) not a washing machine adaptor. If your replacing an exisiting machine you can order a ice machine adaptor on amazon like we did for £6.00.Filter wise the 1 supplied works fine we used it for a fridge as we already had a 3m highflow commerical water filter fitted suppling our drinking water and previous ice machine. If your considering this, go for it, all the parts that could go wrong like the water pump and control board are generic with part numbers, they can all be replaced easily and quickly so once your warranty is expired your not screwed. A plus point of this is they are cheap as chips to replace if they do fail unlike the aforemeantioned Scotsman which wanted £700 for a PCB board.
