Expensive but effective
Pros:+ Very stable with proper base+ Blade mount: This is by far the strongest and most stable yet easy to use blade vice of everything I’ve seen. Makes the Lansky and Worksharp look cheap & flimsy+ Extremely easy to use, dare I say foolproof+ Repeatable: Angles are marked with indents and there are guides to ensure you mount the knife the same place each time.+ Well made: Stones are wide, easy to grip, and the arms they slide on are strong and stable. The vice and base are well constructed. The packaging is well done and protective.Cons:- $375. Yes, it’s expensive. You need to have expensive knives that you want to sharpen yourself and value that. There are other options that will get you part of the way there. None are as good but some are serviceable.- With a proper base, it’s heavy and bulky. As such, no carrying case and it’s not terribly portable. You could easily mount it to a wood cutting board and use a clamp which would increase its portability.- The base model only comes with 4 stones: 100, 200, 400, & 600. I will likely purchase another pair of finer stones to refine the edge which is another $100. Ish. So now nearly $500 for a knife sharpener. You REALLY need to have nice knives.Summary: By far the best of its kind, no questions. Is it worth $250 more than the Worksharp? Probably not if you can get the Worksharp to work for you. The Lansky is also an option but tbh, it struggles with larger knives and finer angled blades. If you want the best, in the end you pay for it and yes I wish there was a more viable option for $150 but for me there isn’t.

Awesome Knife Sharpener
A friend who forges knives as a hobby was delivering a knife to me and offered to sharpen my kitchen knives if I wanted him to as a favor. I took him up on the offer and when I saw how this sharpen worked, I was really impressed and thought it was ingenious. If you haven't watched the YouTube videos of people using it, please do and you'll see why this thing is awesome at what it does. I added a leather strop and as set of 800/1000 grit stones and my knives are sharpen than they have ever been. Is it expensive ... yes, but its worth every penny. great construction and does the job well every time.

It's Wicked Edge, It rocks. From diamond stones to strops EVERYTHING has been awesome. I just built up another set and gave my first set to my son. I've been sharpening all my knives, family knives, friends knives for the last 8 years or so and that sharpener is still going strong. Buy with confidence.

Not a fan. Get the WE Pro
I worked with the WE basic setup for several months and I kept getting off angles and a sweeping grind on the right side. I deduce that the fact that the clamp is fixed on one side and not on the other, its really hard to keep the blade from pivoting when you secure it in the clamp. There are videos on YT showing the same problem. I could have spent months wrecking knives and learning to correct for the flaw in the design but for $300+ I expected a better engineered system. I ended up seling mine and getting a use WE Pro on a ebay. The Pro has a different clamping system which is perfect. Now I get mirror grinds with perfect angles on my knives and they look amazing. These WE systems are not for someone on a budget with a few knives. If you plan to start a knife sharpening business or you have a huge knife collection, spend the cash and get the WE Pro.
