Economical alternative to Acrylic?
I purchased these to see if they might offer a cost effectiveness solution to the Gravity 003 Jazz XL. The grip is effective but it is abrasive on the skin. I have skin issues and don’t think these are going to work for me on long sessions sessions because they bite into the skin. They do work well and sound nice however and if you don’t have skin sensitivity issues they may be just the ticket.

Great grip
I have used the same picks for over 20 years. Recently trued this pick. I love it. They are durable and last longer than most. Very comfortable. I’m bad about dropping picks when I’m playing. I drop this one far less. I’m impressed and will keep using them.

and it was my favorite pick in the world
I had been using a Jazz pick produced by ESP for a while, and it was my favorite pick in the world. However, I can only get them when in Japan, and even then they are hard to get. So I have been searching for an alternative - I have used everything: Dunlop (Ultex, Tortex, and Nylon Jazz IIIs), D'addario Black Ice, and even Chicken Picks and Blue Chip Jazz picks. While they are all good, nothing quite replicated the feel of my favorite ESP picks: Either they were not Acetyl or the size/shape was slightly different. Then I found these. They are identical to my favorite ESP pick, except they have a nice sand grip on them which is a nice bonus. Acetyl has a nice warm tone and grip the strings a little more when playing at an angle, but wears quicker than Ultem/Ultex. I would say, despite not being as fancy, Acetyl has the feel and tone I like in a pick - and now I've found the shape and size that feels best in my hand.

Best heavy guitar pick ever!
Great size, shape, and weight. The grippy stuff on the sides help the pick stay put between my fingers. Get great tone from the strings. Highly recommended!

My Go-To
Fantastic picks for flat-picking jazz, rock leads, bluegrass, and more. Very little pick noise and a warm tone. The plastic material is perhaps not as articulate as picks like the Dunlop Jazztone 20X series, but not nearly as soft as D'Andrea Pro Plecs. If you're looking for an articulate and clean but still fat sound while playing a lot of notes this is a great option. Definitely not best for acoustic guitar in a singer-songwriter context. I use this pick on everything from bop tunes to 80's leads in a wedding band and it's great. As guitar players, experimenting with different picks and picking techniques is a way of life. While I continue to try new picks and even gig with other plectrums, this is a tool I come back time after time. Best of luck finding the "go-to" pick for your technique and style!

My Favorite
It took me years to find a pick that was perfect for me. I needed something that could handle speed-picking on a steel string acoustic but still not be unwieldy for chord strumming. I came across this by accident at Elderly Music. It’s hard enough to make a fast picker without being as clumsy, and without the scratching string noise, as a pick like some of the beefy Dunlop jazz. Single string to chord is easy, and with practice it will even handle Gypsy-style full-chord tremolo (at a hobbiest level; a Gypsy purist will hate it). I have more types and styles of picks than I know what to do with; when I loose my last one of these I start to panic.

Great pick but see if you can find better pricing
I really enjoyed my time with this picks, they remind me more of the Jazz III XL Flex by Dunlop but they give more of a distinct tone due to the plastic Cool uses. They’re fun and the grip feels pretty good and if anything gives a certain presence so that you’re aware of your fingers are on the pick after it is worn a bit.

Not that great for sweaty hands
I bought these thinking the sandpaper like texture would keep the pick from turning in my grip. It didn’t. I have an Dunlop Ultex pick and that takes more time before it turns. Maybe it will work for others but not for me. Hope this helps.
