G-Shock GMB2100D-1A Black One Size

I love this watch! Looks great! You know the performance. Feels quality. The clasp feels like the weak point of there is one. This was a JA model shipped from Japan. I got it for $400 ish. All the legitimacy checks seem good.

The media could not be loaded.  Opened the case and my first impression was wow! My friends with rolexes were complementing how nice the watch is. I was surprised at how much more compact it is compared to how it looks in pictures and videos. It has some functions that the gab2100 doesn't have. The quality is top notch. The digital display is really dark and hard to read, but the led light is brighter than other 2100s. The backplate is a round screw on, not the plate with 4 screws. Stainless steel is polished to a perfect shine. The watch shimmers in the sunlight. Hold the right bottom button for about 3 seconds to make you phone ring. (Casio watch app) Tough solar is interesting, they say the rechargeable battery inside is rechargeable for about 10+years.Looks big but is smaller/thinner than the average gshock.$550 msrp is pretty high, but I see why they put a premium on it. Thankfully I got it for $230+ tax. I was looking to mod a $100 gab2100 or ga2100. The mod kit set would have been about 120-180. That would have been more that what I got this watch for and less quality. Sure it doesn't have the AP royal oak looking screws but I love a gshock since my first one and this is great without breaking the bank. Too bad the price jumped back up to $480 right after I got mine. Glad I pulled the trigger at 4 am when there were 4 left for $230. Love this watch.

Made in Japan with a screw back case. Everything inside has been redesigned for this build. It is not just a matter of taking a GAB2100 and dressing it up in a metal case and band. It is a total redesign. Saw it for $230 and I pulled the trigger on two. I have been looking for a good deal on these for a long time and my patience has paid off.

OK. This is a cult watch in a cult brand. So there is no reason to pay this kind of money for a quartz watch unless you “get it”. I have a lot of mechanical watches including an SS AP “Jumbo” and have confused the two when searching my box. So it is an homage despite Casio’s protestations to the contrary.As a usable chrono or GMT however, forget it. Even with Bluetooth, the digital display is a waste of time. Frankly I would just stick with the plastic model and save $400. Its a little pretentious to wear a SS G-Shock that looks like an AP.
