I had no idea this pedal was so versatile. I'm everything from overdrive to fuzz out of it. Some sounds are better than others, I really like the Custom mode. The sound depends tremendously on the pedal settings, as well as your amp and guitar. I found that if I keep the distortion and pedal volume at about the same level, I get a much fuller sound. Also, it sounds better through the dirty channel of my amp, and even better in the effects loop. When i first tried it through the clean channel with distortion way up and pedal volume down, it sounded shrill and brittle. So, you do have to play around with it. But when you get it, it's one of the best and most classic distortion sounds you could ask for.

The media could not be loaded. This is my first pedal for my electric guitar. Easy to set up even a novice like me pretty much plug and play. Great value with the cable package. 60plus bucks this is well worth the investment.

This sounds like the distortion you think of in your head and it couldn’t be easier to use. There are only 3 knobs so you are always a quarter turn on something from that perfect bright distortion you are looking for. It’s build like a tank and quality of the sound seems impossible to change. You are one stomp away from that dream distortion everyone else is trying to imitate. I’m am happy I bought this and the value added by the accessories is just gravy.

This works well even with my keyboard (as I think it was originally for an electric guitar but I don't play guitar, only keyboards) and very fast to use but my only problem with it is that it produces quite a bit of feedback from my amp which I don't seem to be able to get rid of this buzzing noise so I can't use it when I record some of the Jazz songs that I have written and recorded. But in practicing my instruments, it works well and in general I like the sounds of distortion it produces (except for the feedback) from my amp/speaker. I don't know if it would make this sound of feedback with using an electric guitar so I'm not sure if it would work better for a guitar or not as I don't play a guitar in order to try it out with one but I do know that it works for my keyboards okay and in them it distorts the electric guitar sounds my instrument can produce, but not sure how I can rid it of the distortion/feedback sounds it produces either.

My son has collected guitars over the years and left a few behind when he moved out; along with an amp with no built in distortion (clean sound). I'm not very good but have played guitar since the metal glam days of the 80's. Since I now have a guitar and an amp I really wanted that crunch 80's distortion sound and this Boss delivered. Like I said my guitar playing is really just a hobby to entertain myself but hearing that sound took me back to my teen days when I had a Kramer Guitar, Marshal small stack and some cool pedals. Sounds great!!

My 12 year old grandson LOVES this and his teacher told me it’s a quality brand and will last for many years.
