Fantastic!
Another brilliant novel, I'm so sad that this series has come to an end. I will have to start the Roman chronicles.

Blood Curdling Historical Drama
This is the third and final book in the Blood of Kings series. Following on from the Battle of Hastings in 1066 this book starts in 1109 and follows the same families as the previous books . Namely the King of Gruffydd and his family and the Tewdwr family, mainly Hywel, Tarw and Nesta. This was in a time when Wales was ruled by a number of kings and the English were a threat on the borders. It is a bloody tale with many atrocities taking place but at the same time two love stories. I loved it and looked forward to every opportunity I could to return to the story and when I finished the book I was miserable that the series had ended despite a very good conclusion to the story.I looked at what happened to Gwenallian and there is a story there, hopefully Mr Ashman will be tempted.I highly recommend the whole series

Great Tale Based on Welsh History
The story-telling improved throughout the trilogy. Enjoyable read. Recommended to anyone who enjoys historical fiction and all those who hail from Wales.

Rebellion's Forge. By Kevin Ashman.
I have enjoyed this trilogy so much and eagerly awaited this final book. I couldn't put it down. Now I have to do some research on 'what happened next'. Nesta's story was so full of excitement and sadness. She expected to be Queen of England never realising that her being Welsh forbade the marriage. Did she find love with Owain? It would be nice to think she did. Then she seems to disappear into the mists of time. Griffith's story, from the beginning, was one of courage and heartache. Tarwy's story was exciting. And it seems like he did find happiness with Guilliane. Did Diofol really exist? If so Hywell was the obvious choice to be him. A great trilogy Mr. Ashman. Thank you, but I will be say goodbye to these wonderful characters.

Fantastic end to a superb trilogy.
The end of an amazing trilogy. From the first book to the last this story never faltered, never became unbelievable, never failed to delight and fascinate. What a writer Kevin Ashman is! I have now read every book he has written and am eagerly awaiting his next book. Whatever genre he writes in his research is impeccable and his stories completely believable. There are no super heroes, just human beings doing what they believe to be the right thing and some doing what's best for themselves but always each is character is so well crafted. I can honestly recommend this book and this writer to anyone who wants a damned good story by an excellent writer.

Fast and furious
First the quibbles. Sometimes these Welshmen speak in a way that is too modern and sometimes clumsy. The is one use of an Americanism and one example of horrendous grammar which I am surprised got past the proof reader. But, this is the third in a brilliant series and fully lives up to its place. The characters come alive and the times come alive. A tale of divided loyalties, it moves quickly. There is no unnecessary waffle and I was hooked from the start. The problem was finding a point to put it down to do other things. In the end I finished it rather too quickly and now head for the next in the series. Enjoy.
