Great image quality and no overheating
I've had the camera by a week and use the fishing and for work. It's super easy to operate and the image quality is outstanding. Probably recommended. I've always had trouble with my GoPros and so far this one hasn't let me down at all, no overeating.

Twice the camera, half the price
First a big shout out to Amazon! Your company has been such a blessing to my business. And I really can't thank you enough.Okay, the DJI Action 4. Now I am self employed. I am a commercial photographer. I don't spend money easily and I am not given to impulse buys. Also, I currently have four action cameras from other manufacturers I have purchased over the years and they all fall short for me in many areas. That being said, I have wanted a DJI action camera for some time now but could never justify spending more money. So when Amazon offered the Action 4 at half the original retail price? I thought about it over night and decided to take a chance.Wow! I don't know what to say. I know the Action 5 Pro is out and this is the previous model. But again I say, wow! This camera is everything I hoped it would be and more. The picture quality is fantastic, the audio is crisp and clear, it is feature rich with lots of options. I couldn't be more happy. It's twice the camera I hoped it would be at half the price.I don't make these assertions lightly. I shoot daily with full frame DSLR's that cost many times what this camera did. And the picture quality on the Action 4 is better in every way. Ease of use, I can change the setting in a fraction of the time I could on my big cameras, I can even add an external microphone if I want! This camera really is one of the best purchases if not THE best purchase I have made in a long time. My hat is off to you DJI. BRAVO!

great action cam!
Decided to replace my trusty Shimano CM-1000 sports cam. (that still works, but lost the audible beep)Amazing jump in technology with stabilization, good night vision, fps options and mini screen(s) to view or replay recordings. All these features do have additional drain on the battery and spare batteries (especially in cold weather) is recommended. Can't wait to use this on a full tour!

Universally Awesome, But Be Careful in Saltwater!
Beautiful image quality, with unbelievable motion stabilization- there will never be a need for tripods with functions like this!DJI has pulled my recommendation away from GoPro until something really big changes in terms of value for the money. The value of the entire DJI ecosystem is what makes this little guy the MVP on an indie video producers' team.Functionality Checklist:Super lightweight, with no need for waterproof housing.Shock case makes vertical videos easy.Pairing with wireless mics? Easy.Compatibility with other accessories? Mega easy.Setting advanced color modes & profiles? Yup, also a piece of cake.Image stabilization? So many modes, you could attach it to the top of a roomba, and it would look like a $1M dolly shot- still in 4k at 120 fps.Slow motion for days.Easy log profiles for flat color output.Decent in-camera audio for the casual vlog or family production on social media. The one limitation I have found is letting the camera dunk a little too deeply in saltwater for a little too long.Clearly I'm not the only person saying this. But man, what an exciting time to be making content!

Awesome Beginner Action Camera
Great quality video, lots of settings and awesome stability. I got this instead of the NEW model 5 but since I'm not a professional, this was awesome for home videos and some youtube uploads. I don't like the fact I need to register this camera before use, so DRM kinda sucks, but once you set it, forget it.

Forget GoPro, been there, done that. DJI - this is the way.
Even though the Osmo Action 5 is out, I chose to purchase this previous release on a sale. I am not disappointed. I had been studying these for some time, and knew this would be a good move. It was.My main use cases are:- live recording for music gigs- creative blogging- web streaming (though I have other cameras for that)Let's be clear - I have owned GoPros like the Hero Session 5 and the Hero 8 for many years. I've gigged with them, used them on vacation, and done some paid projects with them. I always struggled with the poor start up time, extremely poor battery performance, and other user interface issues on both of those GoPro models. Battery life is the main issue - with batteries running down while inside the camera while it's off. Almost every time I try to use the Hero 8, I need to immediately replace to battery, even if the battery was fully charged when I put the unit away. I finally broke down and started using a USB power pack, but that gets clunky and isn't always practical. Another big hassle was the Hero 8 web cam capability, which never worked properly on any OS that I tried, even after numerous firmware updates. Since they are now on Hero 13, there's no point beating that dead horse.I also attempted to cheap out with an AKASO EK7000, knowing it would probably suck. Honestly, it's not a bad camera for capturing squirrel videos on my porch. I love the remote that came with it. But the AKASO is not road-ready for gigs. The construction is cheap, the battery is hard to get to, and the batteries suffer from the same quick drain as the GoPro batteries.Which brings me back to the DJI Action 4. It's freaking is amazing. The immediate reaction in terms of user experience is joy.I took the DJI on a gig right away, and had no problem getting it to perform up to my expectations. Startup time is great. Battery life is amazing. The dual screen (front/back) really changes how you use a camera like this. The touch interface is a much smoother experience than GoPro. The magnetic mount is very nice too, and much less hassle (though I still use the GoPro connector on occasion). It's time to move to magnetic mounts. The *only* downside here is that Osmo still does not allow *clean* HDMI. Or so I hear. I have not tested this yet, but I imagine the web resources are correct on this.I can deal with that for now. I hear that the Action 5 is even better.... if that's true. WOW. You can even see GoPro now copying DJI with their magnetic mounts. GoPro knows they need to improve, or just get out of the way. This is my first DJI purchase, and they knocked it out of the park. Waiting for the Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo to go on sale, but I may not bother to wait. I am ready to leave GoPro behind. You should too.
