Very nice, Works well
Arrived in the standard amazon packaging box. Had a nice box and a couple of leaflets/instructions.The adapter performed very well under a high-stress load (almost 15 hrs of continuous streaming), although it got very hot while doing this. there were a couple of blips while streaming but I suspect this is more down to my internet connection rather than the device not keeping up

Poor build quality
This adapter works as described, although the build quality is not good. The metal chassis has been poorly glued to the plastic leaving the wire loosely connected.I returned the adapter and bought another, however the same issue was still there. The adapter itself looks nice and functions properly, but it probably won't last.

Gigabit connectivity with new laptop
Modern laptops don't seem to come with RJ45 connectors any more, being too thin. This little gizmo sorted out that problem with my new laptop connecting it to my gigabit local area network for fast peer-to-peer file transfers.

Did not work with USB C
Bought this as my laptop has no Ethernet connection and I wanted to transfer data from my old laptop to my new one. Unfortunately the USB C connection did not work so no Ethernet and the USB connection did not work either. Returned to Amazon and bought another USB C to Ethernet from a recognised manufacturer and this works perfectly. This confirmed it was the Nilano device at fault not my laptop.

Beware the metal chassis
In general this is a good adapter. It hits 940Mbps+ over the LAN using iperf so does what it says on the tin.However, be aware of the consequences of the metal chassis. All the USB ports work, but if you happen to plug in a Bluetooth UC receiver (for Bose N700 in this instance), the metal chassis appears to massively reduce the reception range. Previously I could get downstairs to make a brew during meetings with no problem at all, but when plugged in to this adapter I sound like a dalek before I even get to the office window.For non-sensitive USB peripherals it works perfectly.
