Every gamer needs a Nintendo Switch (no joke)
This Switch comes with everything that you need to get started: Console, TV Dock, one (1) pair of Joycons with controllers and handstraps, one (1) joycon controller grip, HDMI cable, Type C power adaptor. This console doesn't come with a memory card or game so be sure to keep this in mind as you will need to buy those separately. If you prefer to play online multiplayer games, a subscription to Nintendo Switch Club is required and a yearly subscription costs $29 CAD but also provides benefits like cloud-saving for your games and the ability to play NES and SNES games on your Switch. If you prefer not to subscribe, you can still access the Nintendo eShop to buy digital games for your Switch console and play offline. Some people have argued that buying from a specific retailer will give you 20 times the loyalty points. For those thinking about doing that instead of purchasing from Amazon, here are some things to consider:1. The other retailer usually does not accept returns so if your Switch is defective/damaged straight out of the box, you're out of luck with getting the retailer to replace it. Instead, you'll need to reach out to Nintendo directly for your warranty/replacement options. Amazon however, offers buyer's protection for your purchase.2. Some store locations are still selling the V1 model of this Nintendo Switch. If you prefer to buy from this certain retailer for their 20x loyalty points, please make sure you're getting the V2* version of the Switch. I still see the V1 version of the Switch stocked at some store locations so buyer beware.(*Wait, what's this "V2 Nintendo Switch" talk? Well not too long ago, Nintendo made some critical changes to the Switch's system performance so now the revamped Switch has a battery runtime of 4.5 to 9 hours (according to Nintendo) whereas the original launch Switch only had 3 hours battery runtime. Moving forward, all Nintendo Switches being made will have this increased battery life and the easiest way to determine whether you have a V1 or V2 Switch is to look at the box that it came in. If the box cover has a red background on the left side of the cover, it's the newer V2 Switch. If the box cover has a Switch on a white table, it's the V1 version.Overall, every gamer and every family should have a Nintendo Switch. It's perfect to kill time on your subway commute to and from work or have it keep your kids busy during long car trips. The OG Switch can dock with your TV so when you're home, you can play your games on a big screen and when it's time to go out or go to bed, you can take the Switch with you and continue where you left off.

Disappointed
I just received my Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, the box was so damaged that it got me questioning whether the console is new. I hope the state of the box hasn't impacted the product which seems to be working for now but who knows? This is disappointing when you spend that much on something, especially since it's a birthday gift.

Le prix de la pandemie
Bon produit mais prix prohibitif (2 X le prix normal) en cette période de pandémie... j’imagine que c’est ce qu’on appelle « les lois du marché » et si je suis prêt à payer, je dois assumer.

Great product, very excited!
I was nervous that I would get what other people have been showing in pictures and reviews - a used, or scratched-up switch, but I was delighted to have received a perfect, new console! I checked all the pieces as I pulled it out of the box and was pleasantly surprised. I was iffy for buying one at first but I’m happy I did, now I can play my new console to pass the time during this pandemic. Thank you!

Really good, I'm happy I upgraded from the Lite.
I've been using the Switch Lite since about October or November, and that was my first Switch. Last week, I received the regular Switch in the mail, and while there was a dash on the box, I was initially happy. However, transferring everything into another Switch is a weird process. First off, I had to go out and buy a new sd card, thankfully it was on sale at London Drugs. Second, it's very vague on what you have to do in terms of completely transitioning to a new switch. You have to link your Nintendo ID, redownload all your games (Not a big deal to me, as I've done that on Steam many times), manually transfer all save data in user settings, and, the part I didn't realize until today: Deregister your old switch as the primary console in the eShop settings, which is far off the beaten path. If you don't do that final step, you will have to have an internet connection to play most games, and won't be able to access dlc on games offline if you are able to play them offline. Thankfully I figured this out with the help of reddit, which was more helpful than the guides from Nintendo and other sites. As for my gaming experience on it, better than the Switch Lite in almost every way. The only things I didn't like was that the left JoyCon's dpad had some input issues on the top arrow, but fixed after a few days by itself. Funny. The other is the feeling of the screen. It feels sticky/rough compared to the Lite.Getting my controllers connected to the new switch was a funny experience. It refused to connect for a while. I had to plug them into the switch to make them work. Maybe it's because they're third party? Dunno. Playing on the TV is really nice, although it does make it harder to use headphones, as my TV probably wouldn't take wireless headphones and even if it did, I don't have wireless headphones, only wired. I can still sit at a comfortable distance in my chair but I can imagine many TV switch players aren't getting the most optimal experience, but if they're having fun and not ruining their eyes, more power to them!Overall, I'm happy with the upgrade. The upgrading hurdles however were a little annoying, and I wish it came with a manual explaining how to do it. Maybe other people got a manual with theirs, but I didn't. Absolutely get this for your kid, or for yourself, but only if you plan to play at least....3 or 4 games. If you're just interested in 1 game, don't. You're paying too much to play 1 game.

Great
Lucky enough to get it in this period of time. It's a wonderful console that provide access to plenty good games. I also bought several fitness games, so hopefully it will motivate me enough to lose some weight? The Nintendo online is slightly confusing for me, because I thought, by reading comments somewhere, that all games in-store will be free after purchasing the membership, but it's not really the case. The membership is more for the online co-op play, cloud saving data, and Nintendo Entertainment System. It's great that they provide a trial period before actual purchase, and I might get it again when I want to play something with others.
