Nanny NY state outlawed plastic bags so now we need to buy them to toss our garbage or line our waste baskets. I have purchased these several times and they are perfect. What do they want us to do - throw rotted meat or a stinky diaper to fester in your garbage can all week? Give me a break.

These bags are just like the ones I used to get at the grocery store. But the state where I live banned retailers from providing such bags anymore in favor of using reusable shopping bags. I do use the reusable bags for my grocery shopping, but these disposable bags also serve a purpose. There are times when reusable shopping bags are not desirable to use, for instance, carrying anything that may be dirty or messy, or for carrying something that you want to give to someone else and you don't necessarily want to give them your reusable bag. I also use these as trash bags as they fit perfectly on a wastebasket. I wish I didn't have to buy them when I used to get them for free, but I'm glad these are available on Amazon.

I live in a state that bans plastic bags from being given out in stores. While I understand the detriment to our environment that is caused by plastic, there is not, to my knowledge, a way to dispose of used kitty litter in a hygienic manner, other than in plastic bags. There used to be the question, “paper or plastic” at the checkout. But paper doesn’t work for certain uses. So I buy these! One thousand bags last a long time! Great for the cat’s needs, lining a wastebasket, sending home leftovers after a party, or throwing in a wet bathing suit.They can be difficult to get separated from the other’s, and to open them up, but once you accomplish that, they are great. They also seem to be leakproof, and are pretty sturdy.

Generous size -- very useful. Will buy again.
