Good way of using waste paper
Make sure paper is well shredded and wet to go in all corners, makes a good burning block

Disappointed, eventually
I was excited to get this machine. I has a different modle for many years, which eventually bent out of shape. I replaced it with a similar medel which lasted about 10 minutes. I bought this one because I was assured from reviews that it was much more sturdy. I was happy to pay 3 times the price for this device compared to the other, more flimsy ones, assuming that it would last much longer.When it arrived there wasa defect. The mesh plate that is attached to the shoe by tack welds was not attached properly, some of the welds had failed. I had to drill out the plate and the shoe and apply rivets. This cured the problem and I was happy to live with this. However, after making about 40 briquettes, the side panels on the shoe buckled. The shoe now does not align with the basket and when I do force it into place, the shoe cannot be pressed down far enough to compress the briquette. All in all very disappointing that the one thing I wanted, the sturdiness, was not there.

Some parts too thin
I was happy to pay more than some cheap ones available in the hope it would last a long time (we have a lot of shredded paper to dispose of). I've heard complaints the others collapse after 2-3 bricks.I think this one has lasted perhaps 40 bricks, but the triangular sides have now buckled out of shape. Unfortunately whilst some parts of the construction are very sturdy, these parts aren't.

Cheap, flimsy, useless thing...
Flimsy construction, made from paper-thin metal, not allowing even slight pressure...

Poor Quality
When I received this I thought it was well made and would last me for some time to come. After making about 20 briquettes the side panels on the press just bent because they are made from paper thin steel. Great bit of kit let down by poor materials. Now useless.
