Instructions Aren't Worth A ....
*Please Read Before Purchasing*When we purchased this item, we knew that it was going to be a little challenge due to the weight and lack of extra hands but we were up for the challenge. When this item arrived and we opened the box, right away we could see that the awning was great quality and we were eager to put it up. Once we began to assemble the awning, we quickly discovered that the instruction manual was not helpful. The instructions showed a left motor, but we were given a right motor (aka we had to do everything 'backwards'). In addition, the instructions were vague. The awning came with cement wall anchors but we were going to install it on a wood frame- did not know that prior to ordering it. Maybe we overlooked that. After purchasing the correct screws (with the help of a contractor's recommendation), then came the time to thread twine through a 20ft canvas, three times (as instructed) and roll it up in hopes of it being tight enough. Once that was finished, we were ready to install the awning. The instructions advise that you can use two people. The "people" was a typo. They meant to put two gorillas. You're now attempting to balance a 100+ pound awning (not the 80 pounds as advertised) on top of a ladder and hope that you don't fall through your own screen enclosure. After it was in place, and after fighting with my wife during the whole process, we were able to open the awning and it looks great. It took approximately 7 hours to complete (including back pain, a sunburn, marriage counseling etc). We aren't dummies and can adapt and overcome challenges but this is something else. A previous review that we read before purchasing was that the individual needed to put it together and take it apart 3 times before getting it right. Though we did not believe that statement at first, that is a VERY accurate. Bottom line, it is great quality but they need to rewrite the instruction manual. We only figured out how to properly assemble the awning with a video we found on YouTube. With all of that said, if you decide to move forward with the purchase, be very prepared to have a rough day but after assembled, crack open a cold one under your new awning. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Cranking my way up!
I purchased and installed my awning last month. The video I watched on Youtube made the project look easy but yhe reality was that I had to struggle to finally finish. The last problem is that I can't get the electric motor to work. I need some guidance to either replace it or repair it.

Motor inop, costumer service does not respond.
The motor does not work. The manual crank is very short. I have to use a ladder to move the awning. The company does not respond. I assume I need to buy another motor since the shipping box was pretty beat up on arrival. I had to go purchase smaller bolts to put the frame into the mounting brackets because the wholes didn't line up. No instructions for any other wall than concrete.

Read it losers
I won’t repeat what’s already been stated. But I’ll condense it for those of you too incapable of reading the long correct reviews about these things issues.1) if you can’t read one of those long reviews, you aren’t smart enough or driven enough to do this.2) if you plan to put this into block, your ryobi hammer drill with wood bits isn’t going to do it, especially ifyou hit rebar. So dump the puss bucket drill and find something men use.3) if you do plan for block, get yourself 8 red head anchors 5/8 inch. Don’t f with the cheap anchors that are provided.4) if you think for one second any measurement or hardware or materials in the manual is accurate, you’re a fool and should get calipers, measuring tape whatever.5) again don’t trust any of the hardware, just replace it all with comparable sized stuff.6) if you even make it to where you have the brackets secured, but didn’t assemble the awning and fabric to make sure you could then you’re an idiot.7) before doing even a single goddam thing you find your center roller support. If it’s a full square type bracket, you install it when you put the torsion bars together and I don’t give an F what the manual says. If it’s a C type, it can be installed at the end of assembly. I’m specifically putting this at step 7 because if you can’t read to here, you don’t deserve the advice. Finally, the awning is quality in the sense that it won’t rust (aluminum). It sits mounted sturdy, it looks good extended or rolled in. I have the 20 footer and there’s minimal dipping and it’s hardly noticeable. The fabric is quality and I think that’s where most of your money went. The motor pulls in the awning just fine, at the 20 foot size there is some play in the roller, but I think it’s expected and that’s what the roller support is helping with.Lastly, customer service is very good. I had my roller support initially at the center and thought the roller would roll better with a second. So I spaced them even from the ends. Customer support sent me one free of charge. This got more winded than I wanted, but really just to close, this is a steal at $700 for the 20 foot. Just realize if ikea gives you issues and you only have the tool kit ikea sells, don’t be a cheap ass and just get a $2000 awning. Also, some guy on here complaining about the pitch at 8 foot and that it would be 3.5 foot off the ground probably was 9 beers in when we all know this job only requires 6 beers. I mounted at 10 foot and it’s 8 feet off the ground when extended at the end. I don’t have any NBA players for patio hangouts so so far it’s been good. But it if you’re handy, don’t buy it if you aren’t willing to be challenged at every part of the install. After comparing this to my uncles awntech the awning fabric quality is nearlyIdentical, but the fact his came fully assembled and ready to mount with proper hardware might be worth an extra 1300 to some. Also, trust what I say above, I installed the 20foot not some puzzy 10 foot.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY! WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS!
Bought this awning to cover over my hot tub. It has been a nightmare! The instructions are horrible and you basically should be an engineer to make sense out of it. The pieces came bent, they send zero extra bolts or nuts in the packaging and two bolts broke on us! We have pieces bending and breaking easily as well. I'm disappointed and if I could I would not purchase nor could you pay me to try to install another one of these. Complete wate is money. Definitely cant use in any form of wind and water gathers and pulls down on the awning when extended.
