Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an open world action-adventure video game. You can say that it is Assassin's Creed set in the Lord of the Rings universe. You ascend tall structures and engage in rhythmic combat against large numbers of swordsmen. You activate a special mode of vision that allows you to identify objects and people of interest. Story is good. Sword combat is awesome. Bow & Arrow Archery is also good. You will love both stealth and brutal kill techniques. You can kill multiple enemies by shooting explosive barrels and catching them on fire or by riding a four-legged beast. As you will level up, you will unlock new abilities. Apart from the main story, there are many side missions based on sword, bow and dagger. Overall this game is awesome.This game of the year edition includes both "Bright Lord Campaign" and "Lord of the Hunt Campaign" along with all released runes, skins, warband missions and challenge modes. The best part is that all these DLC are ON THE DISC. There are no DLC codes to redeem and download content from the internet. Just install the game and all the DLC can be accessed directly from the main menu of the game. I grabbed this game at RS.1274 from the seller "Beyond Toys And Gifts".Thanks for reading. This game is fun in the beginning but boring after you play it for a while.

This game kind of has a Witcher and Assassins creed feel to it plus its set in The Lord of The Rings universe. Gameplay is good. The main story mode will last for about 16 hrs and then you have all the dlc content on the disc to enjoy .For ps4 pro owners the game runs on native 4k after the update . No not upscaled 4k , native 4k.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition is an entry level RPG game that is based on the Lord of the Rings movie series. As of what I've been told, its the prequel to the first movie. Frankly, I bought this game when I saw the title say 'Game of the Year'. Shadow of Mordor is a simple sword and bow and arrow RPG game. The game has some very very basic magic. The game has a very very detailed and interesting nemesis system. There is a tier of Uruks and as they become more powerful in the regime, they are promoted to a higher levels like captain and war-chief. Every Uruk has a very specific set of strengths and weaknesses and these can be used against the Uruk making the nemesis system very very interesting and unlike any other games I've played. The game primarily revolves around the story and its combat system. The story, as I mentioned, is a prequel to the LOTR series. No spoilers here. The combat system is fun and the graphics are gore. Slaying Uruk heads and getting that combat multiplier above hundred is what brings the thrill in this game.On another hand, the game is too simple for an RPG. The magic is very very limited, there are no options for weapons (only rune-stones that can be attached), no weapon upgradation and no dialogue opportunity. Its missing some fundamental RPG elements like loot (there are no chests and killed enemies drop no loot).The game could give a total completionist time of around 40 hours. At the price range that Amazon is offering the game is very good. Overall, I'm enjoying the game for its simplicity combined with the intricate story and the sword slashing combat. In my opinion, Shadow of Mordor is a good buy.Game Rating: 8.5/10Price Value: 9/10-soothsayer

Not my cup of tea seems a lot of work to play

Extremely well made game.. one needs to spend initial few hours learning the intricacies of the game since its not your average hack n slash type of game.. story was not that satisfying but the gameplay - the visuals - the background score were really good. Plus with this game of the year edition we get earlier released dlc on disc itself, so it's a no-brainer that this is the game to be picked. Not only fans of Tolkien's LOTR world will love this game but so will rest of gamers..

Awesome game. If you are interested in hack n slash you must have it. Storyline is good. The environment and gameplay is very good. Most important it has nemesis system. So no two players will find same opponents in the storyline. Waiting for the sequel, Shadow of war.
