Beginner, Intermediate, and Professional Friendly!
Wow! I honestly didn't expect this microphone to be so good, but it surprised me and I'm grateful for that. The USB allows for extensive customization of your EQ as well as your limiter, compressor, and noise gate. But it also has an xlr port, so if you want to expand with the microphone, you can. It's very portable, and the sound is good. The only downside is that the microphone starts to high pass, so you have to set it to flat yourself. Remember to update your firmware after purchasing to ensure that the microphone actually works 10/10.

Good value microphone for podcasting, web conferencing, or gaming
This microphone feels solid and has a metal body enclosure. The included shock mount is great for isolating noise created by bumping or handling the stand or boom arm connected to the mic. There is still some noise that is generated when handling or touching the cables connected to the back of the mic, so just be cautious not to touch cables while recording or live. The mute button is conveniently paced on the side of the mic but unfortunately makes a thunk noise when pressed, so I wouldn't recommend using it during a web or video meeting as it introduces unnecessary noise. The same thing goes for the volume knob on the side, which makes audible noise picked up by the mic when pressed or rotated. The mic is easy to set up and is plug and play--works without the need for any drivers. It works on a Mac, iPhone, and iPad with its included USB-C cable. The XLR connector in the back can be used with audio interfaces or mixers but the advanced EQ, noise gate, compressor, and other DSP features are not available when using XLR analog.Overall the size of the mic is okay. It is not discrete if you are filming yourself on camera unless you move the mic farther away and out of frame. But if the mic is too far away, the sound isn't as full and will get noisier as it picks up more of the room sound reflections instead of the direct sound of your voice.Overall it's a good mic for the price, and since it's a dynamic capsule instead of condenser, it doesn't tend to pick up as much background noise.

Dangerous companion software
The product is well built and good quality. But the software is flagged by my antivirus for containing a trojan virus. Check Google to corroborate that, many users had the same experience. How is that possible for in theory a respectable brand? Disappointing and dangerous.

This Mic is a homerun, and affordable.
All I can say is this mic really gives the "ubiquitous podcast mic" (I think you know which one I'm talking about) a real run for it's money. The sound qualily is VERY comparible to that ~$400 mic, but this one you get for about 1/4 of the cost. THAT is value. This Maono mic comes in a set consisting of a desktop mic stand (short), and the mic itself contains a shock mount type of shock absorber that is hoisted with thick rubber type bands. The feel of the casing is not cheap plastic like you might think, but feels like a cool to the touch metalic. There is a thread side adapter to attach this to different thread size booms or stands. I absolutely LOVE that this isn't just a USB mic, but both. It's hefty, but not a paperweight. It does well on my "gator" boom arm that requires a slight bit of weight to keep it stationary to where it doesn't spring up.Lets talk about the quality of sound and "clarity". This mic does a great job in a side by side compared to that ubiquitous mic. I mean it does a FANTASTIC job in comparison. With or without a mic booster. You will find that having a mic booster like that "cloud" or other (less expensive options) will really boost the gain without introducing noise, and you are good! I am thoroughly impressed by this quality in the side by side. For the money this REALLY does hit a home run in the quality department, and gets the job done without complaints. There is included software that helps to refine the USB connection interface method, and you can apply some EQ etc to the signal, but I don't really use that as I use equipment for XLR (with a mic booster), but it's great to know that I can connect that to my laptop away from my studio to get things going, and the mini stand is EXCELLENT, nice and hefty and stable. The mic compatibility covers all these bases and is by far an EXCELLENT option for anyone who is budget conscious.

recording directly on my computer
I recently started using the MAONO PD300X USB/XLR Dynamic Microphone for my podcast and streaming, and it has truly elevated my audio quality. The dual connectivity with both USB-C and XLR options makes it incredibly versatile, whether I’m recording directly on my computer or using a mixer setup. The sound is crystal clear and professional, thanks to the high 192kHz/24-bit resolution, and the built-in noise reduction really helps keep background distractions minimal. I also appreciate the easy-to-use controls like the smart knob for adjusting gain and volume, plus the quick mute button for live sessions. The sturdy metal build feels durable and reliable, perfect for regular use. Overall, it’s an excellent microphone that delivers premium sound without the hefty price tag—highly recommended for podcasters and content creators looking for quality and flexibility.
