It works as described.
It works as described. my dog chewed my light remote control but I was able to make it work long enough to program this new remote and it is a perfect replacement. Completely stoked.

A bit of a pain to program but
Once you try 3 or 4 times you get the timing of the buttons right it finally accepts.

It Might Be A Great Remote . . .
. . . we just never got to find out. Have tried a couple of these and just were not able to get them programmed with our box for the channel function. Power on and off would work. Volume up and down would work. Just never able to get the channel to program and change. Spent considerable time with support without any success. Wound up returning the product. For what did work, it worked well and was a simple, easy-to-use solution for an aging parent. The only deficiency in design is it is a little too slim for an older person to easily hold and function. Just need the channel to work as well.

Programming works fine, but the infrared beam is way too narrow.
I bought this for my Mom, who has dementia. I programmed the POWER, and made both CHANNEL UP/DOWN and VOLUME UP/DOWN the same way, as just volume up/down. She doesn't need channel function. I didn't bother programming the MUTE button. Even this was confusing to my Mom. I wish they made one with just 3 buttons. (not funny)I also tried removing the battery for about 10 seconds, and it didn't forget its programming, so that's good. The biggest problem I have is that its beam output is way too tight, so it only works if I point it directly at the remote sensor on the TV. In a way, it's a good thing if you're really far away, as the focused beam will be effective over a longer distance, but that's not how my Mom uses it. And the darn TV has its remote sensor on the left side, not in the middle. Hopefully, she'll remember to point it towards the left side, but I honestly don't have much faith there. Maybe I can try to replace the infrared LED emitter with wider output angle, or maybe I need to look for infrared repeater device. Sigh.

Make life easier!
First thing you should know: YOU NEED THE TV’s ORIGINAL RRMOTE TO PROGRAM THIS! I finally cut the cable cord and started streaming. I bought Roku sticks for my (non-smart) TVs. The Roku remotes don’t control the on/off or volume; these functions need to be controlled by the TV’s original remote. The problem is the TV remote has a million buttons and the chance of pushing the wrong button and screwing up the streaming program is great. I bought 3 of these remotes to simplify things. And they have. I only programmed the buttons I needed. In fact I purposely didn’t program the channel buttons. The directions are confusing at first; they were not written by a native English speaker. Each function needs to be programmed individually (on/off, volume up, volume down, etc). Sometimes it takes 2-3 tries but I successfully programmed 3 of these. Don’t give up! One note: the volume up and down button needs to be push repeatedly to change the volume. In other words holding it down will only change it incrementally. I’ve attached a photo showing the difference between the original remote and the new one. $9 to make daily life a little simpler is worth it!

Lightweight easy to use remote - works like a charm!
I have an audio preamp (not AV) which came with a beautiful, heavy aluminum remote with 46 buttons. The thing is the preamp only uses 15 of those buttons (why???), and the most important one for me (the “mute” button) is tiny and located in the middle of a bunch of other buttons. This aftermarket remote works to most important functions for me, and I have programmed the big red power button to be the mute. The channel and volume buttons work for source selection and volume, and the small grey mute button…is also programmed to mute the preamp. Overall much easier to grab the small aftermarket remote and hit the red button when that call comes in. I’ll keep the factory remote but I can already tell the aftermarket one will be the one most used.

Works well if you can figure out how to program it.
The product itself works well but only if you know how to program it. The single small sheet of paper that comes with it is blank on one side and covered in Chinese characters on the other side. The programming instructions are fairly straightforward as explained in the comment section of the Amazon listing but without knowing how to program it the remote is useless. Once programmed its a decent little remote but if it’s going to be sold in countries that do not read Chinese a different instruction sheet printed in that countries language is necessary!

It works like it should.
Make sure batteries are fresh/new in the new remote AND in the remote you are programming from. It makes a difference. You want the signal to be as strong as it can be. Read all the directions first. Then try it. If it doesn't work right, read the instructions again, then try it again. It does work. Be patient.

A Simple and Compact Learning Remote
I just got this remote so I cannot vouch as to its long term reliability, but out of the bag it works as advertised. The remote is nice and compact, and smaller than what I expected it to be which was a nice surprise.A Simple one page user instructions was provided, and the learning function worked exactly as described.I would give it a solid 3.5 to 4 stars for now and probably 5 stars if the remote last more than a year.
