Camel wool is one of the most expensive kinds of wool and is generally considered superior to other types of wool. The best camel wool is gathered from two-humped Bactrian camels. Bactrian camels have two types of wool: the outer protective fur called guard hair, which is coarse and inflexible and fine, fluffy, soft shorter fiber of the insulating undercoat. The wool is collected by hand, plucked, combed or shorn away during the molting season. Adult camel can produce only 10 to 20 lbs of wool annually. Since it is a premium fiber, camel hair is usually blended with other types of wool to make it more economical. Blending also makes the coarse guard hair soft and plush. Camel wool is known for its thermostatic properties. It stabilizes the temperature by insulating the animal from the extreme cold conditions in the desert at night and keeping it cool from the heat in the day. Camel hair is lightweight because it is hollow. The hollow space in the center acts as a vacuum making the wool super insulating without added weight. Camel hair provides the best insulation of all the types of wool, which is why it is used for comforters, coats & Mongolian yurts (tents). Camels produce longer fibers than sheep, which results in a more durable product and camel wool comforters are likely to outlast other natural fiber comforters. Like lamb wool, camel hair wicks away moisture caused by perspiration and breathing. Like lambswool, camel hair naturally repels moisture and dirt so it is inherently clean. Unlike synthetic fiber, wool is biodegradable and won't clutter landfills at the end of the product's useful life. Moreover, cultivation of wool doesn't affect environment while manufacturing of synthetics releases air pollutants.

WARMEST COMFORTER REPLACES 3 DOWN COMFORTER!
I ordered this on Christmas Eve. I was prepared to wait until January 18, but I received it on December 28, 22 DAYS EARLY, 4 days after I placed the order!! Boy, am I glad! I live on the East Coast, where it has been 13 degrees at night for 3 days, and this trend will continue for a week.We used to use 3 down comforters & a quilt at night to go to sleep. We have an old funky house with a pellet stove, so the bed room is kinda cold. Last night, after I put a duvet cover on this beautiful comforter, I placed it on the bed with only the quilt on top. We were warm! My husband placed one of the old down comforters on the top, he said that he was cold. The whole combination weighed less than 1/2 of the weight of the 3 down comforter/quilt combination! I had to loose the additional down comforter, it was just too hot with the new blanket.I think this comforter is beautiful. The cover fabric is soft it fit perfectly into the duvet cover I had for it. Thank you so much for getting this comforter to me so quickly, I really appreciate the quality & warmth of this wonderful product!

I made it better myself
I just received the blanket it seems okay, some hard pointy pieces inside. I'm worried about the fabric seems very fragile. How do I wash this??Update- Okay so I bought a spray that's made the blanket water proof. It is the warmest hypoallergenic blanket I've ever bought , I bought a duvet cover and it is really nice. very satisfied. The spray I used was vectra furniture and carpet spray. Had to use quite a lot to cover every inch of the blanket car out to two bottles 40$ each on Amazon.

Must have item for winter
I received this duvet as a Christmas present. Very soft and comfy. Breathable and temperature regulating. Helps me stay warm without sweating or getting cold. Well made to last. Donated all my synthetic duvets and blankets to charity and will never use anything but wool. Best Christmas present ever.
