This was not for me
I hate returning things but this has been useless for me. I tried it for 11 mornings. They recommended 10 to get used to this type of shaver. I also used their 3 step process as shown in the instruction book and their video available on their website. This morning I went back to my Gillette Fusion and my face was grateful. I shaved in 1/3 the time. It was much closer and more comfortable. I had ordered extra shaving balm and blades so as not to run out. I will not be returning those as I hate returning anything. But I am returning the razor kit because it is expensive and useless for me. A few years back, I even tried Harry's and it was better for me than this One Blade. The reason I chose 2 stars instead of 1 was because the razor is very precisely built and has the quality look and feel they advertise. I see all the high ratings by others but I guess it is a matter of different strokes for different folks. My son even uses a straight razor and has a shaving brush collection.

I Have Seen the Light...
Disclaimer – in an effort to be extremely thorough, this review is very lengthy. You’ve been warned. To begin – 37 year old male, very sensitive skin, associate shaving with fun things like root canals, strep throat and paper cuts. Sounds great, huh? Which is why I carry a constant facial hair scruff…reserving razor blade shaving for only the most necessary events (important work meetings, family pictures, etc.)Needless to say, my past experience with all forms of shaving is very sad (electric razors, 99 cent Bics, Harry’s, Gillette Mach 1-100, etc.). I’ve shaved in the shower, shaved in front of the mirror, shaved in the shower in front of a mirror, and tried every kind of gentlemanly haberdashery trade in the books for face prep…and you know what I’ve received in return? Heartache. Pure heartache with a side of razor burn and redness. Oh, and for desert we have homemade ingrown hairs. Lovely! So it shouldn’t surprise you when my wife gave me OneBlade for my birthday gift, I was excited, but deep down very skeptical as well. Kind of like holding out a glimmer of hope for a taste of freedom and bliss, but knowing deep down your mom was going to buy the knock off brand of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.I immediately jumped on the OneBlade website, and read through all the information on how this whole thing came to be. Research, time, money…no stone unturned to find the perfect shaving solution. Awesome! Now I could be sure that at least my face getting Edward Scissorhanded wasn’t all for naught…it was scientifically based!Ok, let me get to my main point here before I lose you: If you don’t put this OneBlade in your cart and hit the ‘Checkout’ button immediately, you are a fool and deserve a lifetime of Dollar Shave Club commercials running on an endless loop, while simultaneously having to use a rusted razor with alcohol infused shaving gel. As someone who clearly has never found the one, I’ve already updated my Facebook status as ‘In A Relationship’ with OneBlade. That’s right, I said it.Now to a more detailed description of my actual shaving experience. I purposely wanted to allow for three different shaves so I could get somewhat of a sample size before writing my review. So, here are each of those three shaves in order:Shave #1I followed OneBlade’s recommended steps precisely, so as to give myself the best chance for success (they’re the experts, right?). The actual one blade shaving feel was so different than I was used to, that I definitely felt clumsy and like a bull in a china closet. I made four (4) different passes, and by the end, I’ll admit, my face did feel a little beat up – but most certainly much different than I’m used to.I applied the provided after shave, and then went to show my wife. To be honest with you, it was the absolute smoothest my skin has ever been, and it felt amazing. As each minute went by, my face felt more and more normal, just without any whiskers. Pretty amazing really. No razor burn immediately after or in the hours that followed. The real test was going to come a day or two after my shave, as that’s when the real fun usually begins with those pesky ingrown hairs. Literally not one. Not one ingrown hair at all.Shave #2Again, I followed the OneBlade shaving directions precisely, although I did use a different shaving cream that wasn’t nearly as gentle as the one initially provided. The new one I used clearly had some alcohol in it, and it was not very gentle. That said, I did three passes this time, and generally had the same feel as shave #1. Still a bit skeptical, but after it was all said and done, another very smooth result. Again, absolutely no razor burn or ingrown hairs the following days.Shave #3I felt much more confident and handy with the actual one blade feel, and I think I really did a much more efficient job of shaving. I went back to the provided OneBlade shaving cream this time. Again I did three passes, this time using my free hand to really press back my face to get as close as possible. I was kind of worried that doing this might compromise the success I had previously, but to my surprise it did not. And I still did not have any razor burn or ingrown hairs. To conclude, clearly I’m a big fan of this razor, to put it lightly. But I’ve honestly never had the pleasure of knowing how it felt to shave, be smooth, be pain free, and then have no issues growing back. One of the things that really stood out to me in reading about OneBlade’s story, is the fact that you only need one razor to do the job…not five. The extra razors just glide over your skin like a rusted hockey skate and serve no purpose. That’s definitely played out true for me. The only thing I haven’t tried yet is shaving on consecutive days, which I am a bit fearful of…but I’m at least extremely optimistic given what I’ve experienced thus far. Get in the game, dude – go get you a OneBlade.

Traditional single and double edge shavers will want one of these!
Who this is for: the vintage shaving enthusiast that wants to expand their arsenal with a very nice, quality piece that takes exceptionally well crafted, super sharp SE razor blades (the Feather FHS-10).Who this is not for: the neophyte shaver looking for a first time razor with which to transition from carts or electric. This comes packaged in a beautiful leather travel case nested inside a waxed canvas pouch along with 10 Feather blades, a blade bank, a tube of shave cream and some balm. I feel it's easily worth the asking price ($199.00) and is of very high quality and good, solid heft. The feather blade loads easily from the rear of the razor head, just slide in until it snaps into place. It is designed to be as fool proof as possible, taking advantage of the laser-like sharpness of Feather's FHS-10 blade but minimizing blade exposure to reduce the possibility of getting nicks, scrapes and irritation. I found it to be extremely efficient and I completed a three pass shave (only two passes on the neck) without issue. I have a very close, comfortable shave on right at the moment. Why I gave it four stars: I gave it 4 because of the proprietary nature of its blades. I believe a beginning "vintage" shaver should start much lower on the price scale, probably with a Merkur 34C or even a Rockwell 6c or 6s. Those razors open a world of variety in available double edge blades while letting them learn the ropes of the no-cartridge shaving world with a smooth and efficient razor. Also, there are the Gem style SE razors and Schick injectors, though the PTFE (teflon) coated Gem blades are nipping at the heels of the Feather FHS-10 cost-wise.If you've been at this for a while and want to try something different, the OneBlade Hybrid is the best entry point into this niche style of shaving system. If you like Feather blades, then it's a no-brainer...buy one and enjoy a unique and pleasurable shaving experience!I will also add that even though this wasn't sold through the Prime shipping program, I received it just as quickly. Kudos to OneBlade for a very fine, high quality product.
