works great!
I read all the reviews prior to purchasing. this worked great and works WAY better than the crap that ATT gave me... it is replacing my Arris NVG599(<-----crap). I asked them to replace it with this model, but they refused and said they'd send another one. The wifi sucks on it, but THIS one worked instantly. the wifi works better and faster. the video and sound quality is WAY better..have to turn down the sound now. It has an old software/firmware version, but hopefully it will be updated to the latest soon by ATT.

Package came on time but was defective. Could not ...
Package came on time but was defective. Could not get it to work so I called AT&T Tech Support. They were able to get the service light on but no wifi. Since it was an AT&T product they sent a technician out. The technician tried but couldn't get it to work either. He was told to swap it out with a different type of router. Hopefully I won't be charged a service call.... fingers crossed.

Works great!
I used this with my new AT&T fiber internet service I had installed in December 2019. I’m supposed to get speed of up to 300 mbps, and I’m getting over that. The AT&T tech that installed the service told me that he’s never seen anyone use their own gateway before. I’m not sure why because this thing works great. It worked immediately and I’ve had no problems for the last month I’ve had it running. This thing saves me the $10/month equipment fee. I highly recommend it.

Great Modem, Worked Flawlwssly .. However
Worked perfectly, just connected and after some time it linked up with an existing ATT installation, out of the box. You get full access to the settings using the provided username/password and I was able to setup a DMZ etc. It does provide a bit more isolation as 'they' dont have default access to your modem, though probably an ATT tech could look it up .. afterall its got a huge logo on the front.ATT is deploying fiber as of 2022 and they no longer charge equipment rentals after taking fiber (in my area, call your customer service). From what I could discern on the phone you cannot return their leased modem (and avoid the rental) because they turn off the accound upon return of their modem. This is probably regional so seriously take the few minutes to call support first.Unrelated but relevant, I found out that eventually they are pulling the copper and give 30 days notice to upgrade. According to a guy overseas when this does occur the local techs are overwhelmed and you may be out of luck for months while they catch up. Once the hard cut occurs the existing copper goes off.Probably better off upgrading to fiber if your area is dropping the rental fee, any privacy seems questionable and there is no reduction I can see purchasing your own modem.

Not new in box
Sync's up wit AT&T no problem. Saving $7 a month on rental fees. Product was not new in box as stated. Even on the box it was shipped in it say used-like new. Still works as it should just beware it is not new in box as advertised.

Does work with UVerse 1000Mbps service
Bought this since I needed the coax. Did not work for my setup, but, the product does work. Just know the coax is really only for a set top box and bandwidth is limited through it which is why I needed to return it.

Unsatisfied
Received a (broken) unit only, no power adapter, cord, or instructions. Used my hookups off my current gateway, couldn't get past red light for 2 days... Therefore broken. Zero problems on refund though.

Works with AT&T Uverse Internet
So after paying close to $600 over the years renting a cable modem, I decided it was worth the risk to buy one. I have the advantage of a son who used to work for Geek Squad to help set it up. Everything pretty much worked out of the box, but I have to admit that what took my son 20 minutes to configure the settings would have taken me a couple of hours.
