GRP4000BK Dancing Flames Pyramid Outdoor Patio Heater with Black Base

I got it in my head that I needed a pair of these for an outdoor party. I had seen a similar heater at a local restaurant, but that brand was 1600.00 per copy. I shopped the local patio and hardware stores and found, for 680.00 ea., units similar to these with the difference being that they came with wheels and a cover. I figured for the price I could do without and ordered two of these, plus I wanted them in black, which was not an option elsewhere.Amazon covered the shipping on these beasts, and they took only a week to get across the country. The boxes were both really beat up- the ups guy apologized and asked if i wanted to refuse shipment. Knowing there was a big glass tube inside I was taking a chance, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the packing job- everything was fine inside. Assembly was straightforward and a screwdriver was included. All of the screws are identical so there can be no confusion there- nice!The heaters perform as expected. After assembly it took about thirty seconds to get the propane up to the pilot ignitor and after that the standing pilot worked fine. They put out a nice warm light and the grills wont get hot enough to burn curious fingers so you don't have to worry about your kids being burned. These are NOT killer heaters like the big umbrella models so don't expect to run them at low settings and stay warm. Figure a twelve foot diameter footprint of moderate warmth. They are beautiful when lit or not and easily moved after removing the propane tank.Update-I saw similar units at Costco today for 199.00. The build quality isn't nearly a good as these. The uprights are in three sections instead of two and the fit of the parts is sloppy. The finish on the panels and grills is also noticeably poorer. Weird chimney at top too.

They provide little or no heat. They look nice and the flame is attractive when it's on. I would say these heaters are for looks and do not provide any heat. They also can tip over very easy with wind. One of our already broke because the heater tipped over. Would not order again.

The unit is very nice to look at, but provides little heat unless you cuddly up right next to it. I also spent about 3 hours assembling the unit, but almost half that time was devoted to removing the protective plastic sheet that's attached to each of the four large stainless pieces at the bottom. It was a lot like trying to remove a price sticker from a package,but on a grand scale...

The cables works great. I got what I wanted. Thanks for speedy and quick delivery. I would be glad to order again from them.Heat radius in open air is a little small. Once glass heats up, the heat comes of that pretty well.

This is the first time I have been so disappointed in a product from Amazon. I received this heater in one huge box that was labeled TEAM LIFT. UPS Delivery truck had only one driver & driver struggled in carrying it to the door. Box was busted open upon arrival. The box contained smaller boxes inside & side panels & grills. The assembly directions were not written very well & drawings clearly didn't mention "front", "sides" or "back" so as you assemble the unit sides are matched with side grills, back with back grills & so on. The panel sides & top cap had razor sharp edges. One grill was bent & damaged. There are so many razor sharp edges, that gloves should be supplied for assembly. I cut my hands in numerous places while trying to assemble. There is no Manufacturer identification or address in the product manual nor is one identified on the product itself. I need a grill replacement & glass tube replacement & have no Manufacturer to contact. This heater seems flimsy & light weight & blows over in the smallest of wind gusts. Very unhappy with it.

We purchased his back in the fall for our covered deck. It heats well and the ambiance it provides is spectacular. One thing we noticed was the height was too tall when sitting, so we cut the legs down, and have the propane tank sit along side the heater. (Please note, if you have small children, you may not want to do this.) It heats our area much better that way. Our friends and family are in awe of the beauty and function of this heater. I highly recommend this product.

Best item I ever bought for patio. People just stare at the flame! Newish it would thro a little more heat. If you stand or sit 3 feet from it you can get warm but farther than that you are still at the mercy of the night air. Maybe I need another one! Easy o put ogether and nice o use

Rated as five stars because it was a great price and looks beautiful on the patio. Was missing a set screw for the cap, but we looked in our spares in the toolbox and was able to finish putting the piece together. Gives off great heat for sitting outside in the winter.
