The best black ink pens
Pitt pens are my favorite - dark, permanent ink. They write so smoothly - very satisfying to use (pen freaks like me will understand). I use them for drawing, but also just writing letters.

Favorite pens
These are my favorite pens for making in my Bible or other paper items. I also use them in my bullet journal for making lines, writing small, or making lists. The varied sizes work with what I'm using each one for. Excellent choice! They are waterproof, too.

Best liners!
I've learned my lesson: black PITT liners are the best. I never use most of the pens in value packs, so I'm paying the same price without wasting 6 pens. PITTs don't dry out quickly, they use quality India ink that's layerable, beautiful, and easier to use than a bottle and dip pen, and the size is perfect. The only comparable brand is twice the price, so these are a good value (I do buy two singles of .03 and .05 sizes from that brand).

I use these with my watercolor paintings. They are fantastic.
These pens write smoothly without any clumps or skipping. Great for artists.

Important in my artwork.
These pens and their quality are essential in my artwork and pre-batik inking of my rice paper. I only use black, permanent ink.

Excellent baseline for fineliners and indian ink pens
You're going to find people who swear by micron and other brands either on the inkflow, cost, and reliability, and they'll be right but this is still a good, affordable next-step set to use above cheap office store pens without breaking the bank, or if you go through ink at an above-average semi-professional to professional pace. The variety of sizes reminds me that it's unfortunate that there isn't really a great bulk deal for a single nib size that's easy to spot if you find one you like, but that's a niche quibble. So, here's a haiku to go with:Good ink pens, they work.Maybe not for Da Vinci,But the price is fair.

Very fine lines, excellent quality
These have long been my favorite pens for fine work, and this selection in particular. They never skip, dry nicely, and are comfortable to hold. They'll also draw over both watercolor and acrylic for those mixed media projects.
