Great Jewelers Bench
This is a very nice jewelers workbench. I bought this for my wife as a Christmas gift. She was very surprised and uses it daily. The bench went together in an hour or so and I followed previous reviews I had read and applied a high quality wood glue to all joints as I assembled it. So far, so good. I was leary of the quality as it was made in China (as most everything else these days), but the wood was good quality and everything fit well. I was upset with the shipping costs though. Amazon advertised one shipping cost, which was why I bought it here, but it was a misprint, and the company supplying the item contacted me that they could not sell me the bench and ship it at the cost advertised. I ended up paying three times the advertised shipping fees due to the heavy weight. If I didn't need it for Christmas, I would have shopped around for a better price. The bench price was great, but the shipping cost made it comparable with other sites/sellers. Overall, I rate the jewelers bench a five star and the shipping as a one star. Buyers, watch the shipping fees!!

Pleasantly surprised
When I realized that many stores carry this product, I got the idea that is was a cheaply made chinese production. But ultimately I was working within a tight budget, so this bench was my best bet. After looking at many of them from different sellers, I found it at Finding King for under $300 with free shipping, so I took a chance and ordered. It arrived within a few days, and the box was branded by Grobet USA. I was happy to discover that the wood was pretty high quality and finished, and that the holes for construction lined up fairly well (bench top took a little finagling to get all the screws in). Once constructed, I was impressed by the strength and sturdiness of the piece. The other cool thing is that if you are handy, you can modify it easily to add features specific to your trade or methods. All in all a great buy, and would recommend. Keep in mind that it does require some basic construction and may not be as easy to assemble as a new dresser from IKEA (jewelers benches are not a billion dollar industry) :)

Decent LIGHT Workbench, Not For Heavy Duty Work
This is a decent light (NOT "heavy duty" as stated on the boxes) workbench. A few flaws stated below.I bought this unit so I could have an air-conditioned light work area during our torturous Texas summers which invariably produce a sweltering garage. The bench arrived in two boxes clearly marked "Box 1 of 2" and a different "Box 2 of 2" (eventually). Both can be carried upstairs by a 170lb man like myself. Assembly is pretty straight forward but some of the drawings are a little confusing.Pros : Quick and fairly easy set-up , just the right height to keep you work near eye-level, steel-lined bottom drawer should be great for soldering. Note that not all models have the steel lining so check with the vendor before buying. Also, the arm rests are convenient once you figure out how to use them (OK, I'm not a jeweler).Cons: Work top appears to be pine which is an awfully soft wood for the purpose. Will be buying a rubber mat for protection. The top pull out drawer (which for some reason has a semi-circle cut out of it) has a sub-shelf held in place with an adhesive tape. That only stuck together for two days. Now held in place with a few dabs of silicone sealant. The two-box method was confusing for my vendor who sent me two box "one of two"s initially and a third box" one of two" before figuring out what box "two of two" actually meant. That chewed up a month or more. Hope you have better luck than me.

Great value, sturdy, and sleek
Getting set back up to work on jewelry again, and needed an inexpensive, but quality bench. I received this surprisingly quick, and came in perfect condition. It was easy to follow the manual, as well as to put together, though a little time consuming. I’d say between 45 min to an hour, from unpacking to finish. Like a few other reviewers mentioned, I did have one hole I couldn’t line up, though it wasn’t anything that will matter. Even still, feels very sturdy, and provides a decent sized work space. 11/10 would recommend

Low quality soft wood, unusable bench pin, but reasonably sturdy.
This product is all wood, unlike competitors in its price range, but it’s low quality wood (think 2x4’s from Home Depot) with copious knots and some cracked pieces. Assembly is pretty straightforward except for one machining error on mine ( the cam hole in the long pieces that joined the sides were off by 1/8”, which was enough to prevent the screws from engaging). Assembly would have been a lot quicker if I had read the instructions through and made sure I understood every step and measured the machined parts before I started. There are quite a few screw holes that are difficult to reach and not visible while you are working…a ratcheting Allen key would have saved a lot of time and aggravation. As for the bench pin, it’s such a sloppy fit that it’s unusable, but a clamp-on bench pin fits in the slot and works just fine.

Terrible Bench
I just bought this bench after reading the reviews and hoped I wouldn't have the same issues as everyone else. Nope...I had the EXACT same issues as all the other bad reviews: hard to assemble, re-drill holes, damaged areas, lots of patched up areas with some sort of wood filler, the "metal" catch tray that is already rusting. I would NOT recommend buying this bench unless you are good at building furniture and are handy with tools.During step one of putting together this bench, you have to screw the sides of the bench to two wooden two by fours. This bench should have the pre-drilled holes big enough to fit the head of the screw they give you. However, I had to buy a 1/2 drill bit since Grobet didn't drill the pre-drilled holes big enough. Since most drill bit kits don't come with a drill bit this large, you are going to need to go out and buy one. Since this is step one of the process you are going to be pissed.I will say though, since there are no other bench options below $1,000 besides this bench, I think this is a good starter bench if you can put it together. However, for the price you pay for this piece of junk, you may be better off building a bench yourself if you are able.
