Sweet WillowKitty Behave Cat Scratching Deterrent Spray Protect Furniture And Wallpaper 500ml

I have just started using this product to deter my cat scratching my carpet. So far so good. I’ve been using it regularly as instructed and I haven’t seen my cat scratching those places. She is aware of the smell which is pleasant for humans and doesn’t linger However the cat is definitely aware of it and avoids the places I sprayed. Fingers crossed this continues.

I want to start off by listing the positives and negatives of this product.Positives:-Smells lovely-Easy to use-Very potent-Does work for about 24 hoursNegatives:-Doesn't work with all cats-I still have rips in my wallpaperI used this product right before bed every night for a week (cats were doing most damage during the night). It did keep them away for about 24 hours. When I stopped using it, they went right back to the same spot. I'm looking for a more permenant solution rather than a repeat buy of a spray.Overall:I think it will work with some cats, my 2 just seem to be very persistant. I'll be looking at different options that are a bit more cost effective.You may as well try it, at best it fixes the issue... at worst you will have a lovely smelling home for a couple weeks.

My old male cat has always refused to use a scratch post and as he’s been an outdoor cat he’s kept his claws under control by climbing etc. But as he’s gotten older and goes out less n less he’s annoying taken to using the two bottom steps on our stairs to scratch at. He ripped our last carpet to shreds and as we’ve just had a new stairs carpet fitted we’ve been trying options to break his habit. We’ve trying plastic covers and anti scratch tape, both work perfectly but obviously look unsightly. I even mixed up a blend of essential oil and water to spray on and deter him but the smell was so intense that it was unbearable for humans let alone cats! (Pretty sure I got the ratio wrong 😂)That’s where this stuff comes in, I read the mostly positive reviews and was buoyed by the reactions from other cat owners.Now either my cat has had special forces training and can resist the harshest of environments or he’s completely normal and this stuff is simply snake oil!As you can see from the photo, he’s totally unaffected and you may even say unaware that this spray is even meant to keep him away! For context I had just sprayed the bottom three steps a minute before the photo was taken.I wouldn’t normally leave a review for a product like this but it’s not cheap and you’d honestly be better to buy some citronella essential oil, add it to a little water and spray that on, yes it’s a strong smell but you do get used to it and at least it works.

This product works wonders, my cat barely scratches where I spray this. However I do have to spray every few days to refresh the scent. It also does not stink at all, instead smells fresh and citrus-y. Good value for money, I got it months ago and still have almost 3/4 of the bottle left.

We had a new sofa delivered and to my horror one of my cats thought it was a big scratching post! She had never previously scratched the furniture but we changed from leather to fabric, which is perhaps what made the difference. Anyhow, I was very stressed having spent a lot of money on the sofa so thought I'd try this based on existing reviews. It was very successful. I'd say it took about three weeks to break the habit. I used the spray daily (and covered the sofa when we went out because I didn't trust her left alone!) and praised her when she used her actual scratching posts. I think this combination used consistently worked. I'm buying another bottle now because we've just had a new stair carpet fitted and I have the same problem! Hoping for another successful result.
