Great replacement
I was looking to replace the exact derailleur on my Catrike since during the process of converting it back to manual I ended up bending the cage because I didn’t realize the hanger was damaged. Worked great and now that it’s all aligned and tuned up she works great. I’m not a hardcore cyclist so this works great for my needs

Great replacement for the Sram RD-X9
Installation was not easy sent it to bike shop, they have the tools and knowledge. I crunched my RD-X9 on a rock. This was a great replacement for my 10 speed fat bike. I would recommend. I have only ridden it about 8 times but no shifting issues. Durability, they hang down asking to be knocked off but, reasonable priced replacement for the x9. Would recommend for the average bicycler for a replacement on a 9/10 speed, mine is 10 speed.

It's a good enough derailleur.
Replace a broken version of the same derailleur. It shifts OK, but not perfect all the time. I need to adjust the tension in the shift cable every so often and that usually fixes it. Once the chain is sufficiently worn, no adjustment seems to work. The price is great and the online Sram documents are sufficient for a good install. The black paint goes well with my orange bike, which seems to matter more than it should.

Best bang for your multi-speed bicycle buck!
IMO, this is the best derailleur you can buy in this price range. It is kind of odd that over the decades bicycles have gone from 3 speed "English" bikes to 24 speed bikes. What people are noticing is when you have 24 different speed combinations and ratios, a lot of them are so close together that they more or less get duplicated, so you really don't have 24 "useable" speed combinations. So, it makes sense to a lot of folks that a single chainring turning a 10 speed wide ratio cassette is a better and simpler system, especially since you now only have one shifter to worry about, and the cassettes come with customizable cog ratios. 10 cog cassettes are usually a little longer than 5, 6, 7 and 8 cog cassettes, so it is important to have a sturdy and dependable derailleur.

Works perfectly with my Rival shifters
Ordered this to use with my Rival shifters so I can use a bigger cassette for climbing.I was worried initially because of the bad reviews, but so far I haven't a single problem.Springs are good.No wobbly linkages.B tension screw and plate are working.Hi and Lo limit screws have no problems.Very easy to install and adjust.I am still waiting for my new cassette (11-36) and new chain, but I predict that there will be no problem adjusting the RD when I swap parts. Can't comment about durability yet, but so far the RD looks durable.

Used not new
Received a used part. This is unacceptable I paid for a new item.

Smooth shifting again
I bought this item because my original derailleur cage broke and was not replaceable. No trouble installing the new derailleur but had a little adjusting it. I've had several rides with it and can not how quiet it is and the shifting is so smooooth it's unbelievable. It is now March 2024 and it is performing superbly.

Questioning Sram Quality/Engineering
I installed this to replace the previous clutch-less version that came stock on my Trek X-Caliber 8--fell apart while I was pedaling a steep hill. It was three years old at the time and quite used. The jockey wheel arm was held in by a c-clip which was obviously not beefy enough. This new 2.1 version with the lower cage spring clutch housing has a more traditional hex bolt mounting system instead of the previous c-clip style. The jockey arm is secured to the lower cage spring housing with an allen head bolt. The clutch feature seems to be adjusted properly out of the box and has really quieted down the driver-train. Nice.I have not had any issues with the b-screw and don't really expect to. The failure of the older style derailleur does have me questioning Sram components at this point.
