Nice basic computer
I am using this laptop very infrequently to display pictures taken of patients in my dental practice. I do not use for Internet at all. I've only had it for a month but it has worked well so far.

Keep Looking!
I have to admit I am very disappointed with this purchase of the Dell computer. I bought this to replace a 6 year old Toshiba laptop (that is pretty much the exact same specs as the new Dell) that was having problems with the keys not always registering. This Dell laptop is slow on every level, I find it a little sad that I have to still use the old laptop for my day to day work as I do not have time to constantly wait for the cursor to "be ready" to move or for pages to load or for apps to open. Even as I write this, my laptops are side by side, (once again almost exact same specs) and this "NEW DELL"is impressively slower than a laptop I have been using for years.I was warned NOT to buy a Dell, I was told over and over they are garbage laptops, but I though "I just need a laptop to have the same specs as what I have been using as I don't need anything more". Well, little did I know that impressive but still competitive price tag came at a much higher price then expected. DO NOT BUY this laptop unless you have plenty of time to waste, waiting for it to do just about anything. Examples: the cursor "locks up" every minute or so, for 10 seconds at a time, it takes 3 times as long to open web pages or apps then the 6 year old laptop right next to it, it can not even handle the simple task of opening the the settings page for the laptop with out locking up with a "not responding" error message. Once again, in this day and age there are a million options, pass this one up and buy something else.

Very slow
Incredibly slow. With nothing else running it takes in the tens of seconds to open an application or load a web page. Bandwith is not the problem, every other internet connected device (fire tv, ps4, iPhones, another laptop) runs perfectly fine.

The Dell Inspiron is a fantastic computer with a few downsides
Over time computers have made their way into our daily life not only as important for school and work, but also as a way to interact with others without the need for hard-copy forms of communication. These computers come in various forms, sizes, and levels of processing power, for there is different computers which serve different needs for everyone. The Dell Inspiron is a fantastic computer with a few downsides, but its great performance can be attributed to its price, processor, and upgradable possibilities.First, this computer gives excellent performance for the price. One should not expect much from this machine because its starting price is four-hundred, for this price can be considered the lower to middle tier of laptops. The price of this machine will give the buyer the same or lower quality anywhere else. Four-hundred dollars won’t get the buyer a super-computer which can play 4k high processing games, nor will it have a screen which goes past 1080p. If bought on amazon (which includes the best cost) the warranty includes a thirty-day return policy, yet any user damage will have to be payed extra for. This warranty can be found with most computers, yet it is still a good deal none the less. There is no virus protection included in the price, so the buyer will want to purchase some sort of virus protection program which usually will cost another one-hundred and fifty dollars. This extra price is expensive to some people, but it’s better than the four-hundred dollar computer being destroyed by viruses.Second, the processor is an Intel Celeron which is known as the least expensive of Intel processors. The Intel Celeron has less processing power than the Pentium one and two. These processors (Pentium One, Pentium Two, and Celeron) can be all grouped together as basic processors. All of these chips can do the same things, but the Celeron stands out because it’s price gives the buyer a clock speed of two-point-four gigahertz. This clock speed gives the buyer slightly lower performance than the Pentium’s clock speed at three-point-two gigahertz, but it comes at a far cheaper price. This processor holds all basic capabilities, and does no more or less than word processing, surfing the internet, and other low processing activities. The user will not be able to play any sort of games because of its limited power, so the buyer should worry about overheating if they are using it for an extended time at high processing. These issues shouldn’t be stressed too much if the user is just using its basic processing power.Third, some upgrades on the Inspiron would be preferable if the user is looking for higher performance; the upgrades needed to improve the computer could include upgrading the memory from two gigabytes to sixteen or eight. The current memory is not good for someone storing huge files, or having many programs open at once although this issue can be traced to improving the RAM (random access memory). A better RAM can be bought online ranging from fifty to two-hundred dollars. An upgrade to the RAM would be able to open more programs at once without freezes and crashes. These upgrades are optional, yet they are preferable if the buyer would want a higher performance machine. The base version of this machine will work well for the buyer for word processing and internet surfing, but the user should be careful when using multiple programs at once because the RAM will not be able to keep them up without a freeze or crash. Finally, this computer is overall a good purchase for basic functions, and will suit students fine if used properly. The price gives the buyer exactly what they pay for, and the competition can’t compete. The Inspiron three-thousand is a fantastic computer with a few downsides, but its great performance can be attributed to its price, processor, and upgradable possibilities.

either my touch adjusted to the keyboard, or the keyboard adjusted to my touch . . .
I've been using the laptop for several weeks now. I like it. I wish I'd paid attention that it was NOT touch screen. Would have preferred . . . BUT for those who have voiced complaints about sticky/whatever keys/etc. I found it took a few days for the computer to adjust to my touch/ or more likely me to adjust to its response. With a little use, the keys issue vanished.

Don't waste your money. Save a little more, and get a better product.
This computer lasted 2 months. Just long enough to not be able to return it. I would go into details, but the list would be endless. Poor quality, poor everything; just don't waste your money. In my experience, it does not work out with any laptop below the $500-$600 price range. Sorry, but it will only cause pain and agony to try to spend less.

The computer I received was unbearably slow. I suppose that others had different experiences with other machines, but I plan on returning it.
