Great kit at an amazing price.
the switch tip wasn't included but, this kit was an easy build , looks and plays great, neck and frets are dead on.I'll be buying more of their kits very soon. Was expecting tons of problems......NONE....Just a great kit !!!!!

A great experience
Let's face it... it's not going to be top of the line... HOWEVER!! building a guitar is a lot of fun, especially if you have an artistic side. You can always upgrade the pick ups and other hardware.I really enjoy the kit guitars and would highly recommend them.

Best for a beginner to build.
Am pleasantly surprised with how well this sounds. The wood isn't the prettiest so you'll want to paint instead of staining it. The strings are horrible but you can get good strings for 5 bucks. Everything snaps together and fits perfectly. Paint it, put it together then you can watch videos on YouTube on how to set it up and make adjustments. I cut off the wires and saudered some thicker ones in but that's not necessary. I've owned a fender squiar that cost twice as much but didn't sound as good as this one.

Incredible quality for the price
I’ve put together a few kits now. This one has become my new favorite guitar to play, and it looks awesome. Partial credit to me for making it look awesome but I can’t get over the quality of the parts in this kit. Super lightweight and sounds incredible plugged in or not. Highly recommend this one. Wiring was plug in so no soldering needed. Props to these guys this is a fantastic kit.

Guitar kit
Well, I haven’t assembled it yet. Waiting on a few things for the finish. Kit came well, packed everything there and the wood very well smoothed out. I’m quite impressed with the kit And expect it to go together quite well. My only regret is that the kit Doesn’t have any options for hardware and accessories. You would think the manufacture would set it up with those options. Inlay on the neck, different colors for the hardware that kind of thing. But for a basic guitar that looks really close to the full tilt expensive ones you can’t go wrong. You could take this out of the box assemble it and just start playing no finish no nothing just music. And there are plenty of videos on YouTube that show you how to apply a finish. Your guitar, skies the limit. Amazon does have the options I’m talking about, but it’s quite a bit more expensive and by the time you buy it, all you exceeded the price of the original guitar. But that just gives you the parts to build another one. Not such a bad deal after all.

Well it's about what I expected
Eh, I wasn't expecting anything crazy good from this. I'm a well experienced, advanced guitarist and had sold all my guitars a while ago (life ya know?) Still on the coming up end of having the money to replace them but wanted something in the meantime. Here's what to expectBuild: very simple to set up. Everything went in its place and gave no issues. I wouldn't recommend this for someone with absolutely no experience. As you'll need to adjust the tensioner rod, action, and intonate the string placement. But there are videos out there. So to each their ownQuality: I won't really complain about the quality all that much. I will say, I was worried about recieving a warped or bent neck. Thankfully it was straightSound: the big one. Don't get your hopes up. The pickups aren't bad honestly. And with proper adjustments of the tensioner rod, action, and intonation, the sound isn't per say bad. You know how you can buy a jackson JS22 for like 200 bucks and get something that sounds like what an electric guitar sounds like stereotypically? Yeah, this isn't the same. It definitely is a grade or so below that kind of sound. But honestly, something for a beginner, I'd say this is more than exceptionalOverall I'd say this is something for a beginner. If you're intermediate or above, save your time and the little bit of money. Good for bedroom playing at most in that case. Overall I'd give it a 6/10

The guitar body is NOT mahogany. It's PRESS BOARD. 0/10 Would not recommend.
I bought this kit to try a something different. I was skeptical of the mahogany claim, and for good reason; it's press board, NOT mahogany! Ktaxon clearly knows nothing about hardwoods. If you care about truthful advertising, or real wood guitars, keep looking, and elsewhere. I just assumed it was basswood from the weight. I had no idea they were lying in the description. Had I known it was just press board, I never would have bought it.I initially filled the cutout on the bottom with epoxy, and also used it to finish the whole project, which is a good thing, since it's not solid wood. I hated the upper horn because it extended too far in my opinion, but an easy fix. I'd initially planned to gift it away, and didn't trim it back at first. The person I was to gift it to decide to switch to drums, so I decided to keep it.That's why the pics show the cut on a finished guitar. As soon as the saw blade started to cut, I smelled Elmer's glue and sawdust. Ah... Press board. A far cry from mahogany, but it was obvious by the 15 ounce weight out of the box that it wasn't.The real pathetic part is the bs excuse you get from the seller when called out. They contacted me because of the initial 2.5 stars I mentioned. Let's be honest: this kit doesn't deserve any stars. Nor do the sellers.*About the actual kit and build process*It's extremely easy to put together minus the terribly cut wire routes. The way they have the 24 frets against a body not made for it puts the pickups closer together, but whatever it was $59.99 plus $19.99 to ship. If you don't expect much, you definitely get it.I initially used the hardware and electronics it came with, but once I found out I was keeping it, I swapped it all out as the wiring etc, though effective is complete garbage. The bridge weighed about 3 ounces, the pots were horrible, the wiring looked similar to a dollar store rc car, and the switch was stiff. All in all the trash can had no complaints! The square connectors barely fit the round holes to push through, but not impossible. The pickups did work, but for the love of decent tone, I swapped them out for P90s to fit the ice theme. The neck is a little surprising. I had to file the fret edges, but it's really not bad, considering.Overall I'd give it a .00005 star rating, and I have already suggested the seller clarifies that it is not in fact mahogany, but very lightweight press board. Sadly, they don't care. They called the press board "mahogany colored" wood. And were completely dismissive.Buy as many as you like, just know it's not mahogany, or even decent quality.I've been building and working on guitars for over 20 years, and am amazed this kit has a 3.9 star rating as of 4-11-24. If you want it to be playable, you'll have to upgrade all hardware and electronics, and address the ridiculous fret edges.I currently have 8 coats of epoxy on it, but after discovering the "wood" type, plan that many more at least. If nothing else, it's a cool wall decoration.
