Get the Best You Can Afford, This is Quality.
I've been building up my tool chest and had to get the best quality I could afford (as with everything)Over £40 seemed like a lot for this, I could have got a much cheaper version, but you know what, it's a beautiful bit of kit that will serve me well and I love it.

Overall I am pretty happy with this
First, I was sent a far inferior product, admittedly the card it was tied to was marked M2154 but it was a cheap marking gauge, not a motice gauge. Overall I am pretty happy with this, the adjustments seem fine, and the gap and position stays put when tigtened, without drift. It is fairly small length, but adequate for most uses, it is rare that the mortice is a long istnce into the piece. Finish is fine, I think the hole is slightly sloppy but it tightens without changing position so overall it works.

Basically the same as the cutting gauge I purchased at the same time a well made and a lovely tool to own and use , no plastic bits and pieces like on a lot of other tools proper wood and brass and a feel of quality.

Good but doesn't look as nice as photo
Good item, although it didn't look as nice as in the product photo. The item received had a different style logo and wasn't printed straight. Dad was happy with it though.

Nice tool but finish is not up to standard.
The machining of this marking gauge is very good and the brass fittings and pins all sit nicely in the Rosewood. However at almost £50, i do not expect to see a hole/chip on the inside face of the stock block.Additionally, the block does not sit completely at 90* to the stem and is on the loose side. I have used it to mark out for some morticing and it seems ok but the stock needs tightening up a lot to really ensure it stays in place.
