Sturdy and Stays Tight
After reading some reviews that this doesn’t hold all Nurge hoops and doesn’t stay tight, I was hesitant to order this floor stand. I’ve been very happy with my Nurge hoops, so I’m glad I decided to see for myself if this product is of the same quality. I needed to give my hand a rest from holding my hoop, and this has helped immensely. The stand is heavy enough to stay put with a nice, wide base, but it’s not so heavy that I can’t easily move it aside when I’m ready to get up from my stitching chair. With the number of joints it has to adjust, I found it easy to find the configuration that fits perfectly with my chair and my body. I wondered how it would be to flip to the back side of my project to bury and trim my threads. It is no problem at all. I don’t find it necessary to make the very top adjustment extra tight. My hoop stays in place, while I’m still able to easily flip it up for those purposes. I think this is an excellent stand, especially for the price difference compared with some of the other popular floor stands.

No more constant thread tangles!
This thing seems to defy physics. It's very sturdy, stays in the position you set, and delivers much more than simply using both hands: the thread does not get tangled nearly as much. As I'm getting older, my eyesight isn't as good, and so I can position this right in front of my face so I can see it and work quickly with ease. This is a game changer. I don't like buying frivolous things, if it wasn't such a miracle for me I'd be sending it back. You can see in my pictures that this is a larger project with some weight to it, and I can maneuver around the extra fabric so much easier now.*THIS DOES NOT FIT ALL NURGE HOOPS. I have a 1" thick No. 4 hoop and it does NOT fit! Use a thinner hoop.

Sturdy and Balanced
Very sturdy and well balanced. Great to use on my bed, couch or table. Very surprised how well it stands without tipping over. Worth the extra money for something that will last.

Simple, high quality
If you’re looking for a sound needlework frame, look no further. This frame works beautifully for my larger needlepoint canvases, holding the canvas firmly. The spindles are well-smoothed hardwood; the angled brackets are veneer over high-density pressboard, which assures stability. I bought the two sets of longer spindles, as well, as the size that ships with this unit are fairly small for the projects I work.

Heavy, and Pricey
The frame is much heavier than expected. I use it on my lap sitting in my recliner and it gets a bit weighty after a while. The pressed wood is the problem; if it were made with solid wood or, even better, aluminum, it would be much lighter and more maneuverable. The locks work great; once they are set, they stay put. Not the fault of the frame but of my project, the space between the dowel and the first row of stitches is very tight and difficult to finish. Anyone have a solution? The price: since I could find no alternative, I bit the bullet and paid what I feel is way too much for this frame. Plus I had to order the longer dowels for my next project and again felt I was being gouged. Really, the cost of materials can't be that much for three dowels and a couple pieces of pressed wood.Would I buy it again? Probably because it does allow me to use both hands while working. Am I happy with the price? No. If it were less expensive and lighter, I would be tempted to buy more than one so I could switch between projects. Alas, ain't gonna happen.

Uncomfortable
It’s hard to reach around to the back and to flip to the back. It’s a workout and uncomfortable. If your Aida is just a bit longer than the stand, it won’t stay very well. The clips don’t hold it tight enough. Make sure your Aida is at least 2 inches longer than the stand!! So sad I bought it. Ugh
