just like the photos
these kites were so fun. the octopus flew more easily. but both did fly very nice and high. they are a little tricky to pack back up when done. they want to tangle up a lot.

Great value & fun for all ages
You absolutely can't beat the value of 2 kites for $20. I and my husband used each kite once in light-moderate wind.Octopus kite review:Pros:-By far our favorite of the two-Almost no assembly > just had to tie the string to the kite!-Went up and stayed up well in light wind where many others were losing the battle (see beach photo)-Absolutely adorable up there - you can't help but smile watching itCons-There is absolutely no way it is going back into the carrier it came in. With all the tails, it will need a much bigger bag. Not a big deal, though.Rainbow Kite review:Pros-It was nice to have two different options-Assembly was pretty painless, though the instructions make it much more complicated than it should-Folded back up well (after dis-assembly)Cons-It did not fly as well as the octopus-The problem is that the frame does not go all the way to the end of the kite so that it is a full triangle. As a result, those bits on the end of each wing flap around in the wind and make it unstable. This seems like a strange oversight, but I am no aeronautics engineer...Summary:I am not sure we will ever use the rainbow one again, but it is still nice to have 2 in case you ever need them. You can't beat this value. Totally worth it for light-hearted fun. Just get them. :)

Nice kite set
Flew the octopus at the beach first. Perhaps not enough wind but was harder to fly, but it did fly, and it looks great with the long tentacle streamers. Agreed with other reviewers that that once you take the kites out of the bag, never goes back in (too small) so consider some kind of similarly sized zipper bag for storage. What would make it better is if they included such a bag with their kit.Otherwise enjoying it, and looking forward to flying them again.

15.00 for 2 Kites
The media could not be loaded. Upon first opening the package I felt a sense of disappointment. Taking them out I felt like they were made cheaply… and that they aren’t going to last. I opened the squid/octopus first and the instructions were confusing. I saw sticks in the main bag but the squid/octopus instructions didn’t say it needs any structural stick. I unraveled both ends of strings and tied the kite’s spool or reel onto the gold strings and as soon as I let it go it went up. I was shocked and honestly flying it for the 20 minutes or so with my son was worth the 15 alone. After this I got kind of excited for the next one. Again the instructions were more confusing than helpful, but since I have some experience with kites and with building tents (I know it’s odd to bring that up) I just winged it and it went up quickly too. Both flew fine.I don’t know how many uses we will get out of them as I only used them today, but these flew way better than the $20 Costco one I just returned, so here we are! I added a video of my 4 year old son flying the squid/octopus.

Came Damaged (Rods Won’t Stay Connected)
Cute kites, but the rainbow one came damaged. The rods would not stay connected from the first time I assembled the kite, and I had to end up taping them together just so my daughter could fly it. No issues with the octopus kite so far.

Two hours of making my kids run around is worth $20
I was hesitant about purchasing this product reading everyone's reviews about how hard this was to assemble but fortunately, I read the review about the person who was extremely inebriated and able to put it together and I thought, hmmm...even if this is a drunk engineer guru of spatial relations, I probably got a shot. Turns out, assembly means untying a knot of 6 parallel strings and tying that to the coiled string handle. I promise you, you got this! We unleashed this airy cephalopod on a pleasant breezy day at our house...no wind swept dunes at the beach or turbulent mountain tops. And that sweet gift of the gods, flew! It flew enough that it kept my couch potato children running outside for two hours. Two hours of my kids outside during a sleepy Covid year, is well worth $20. Thank you drunk kite-flyer for posting your review. This kite rocks. It has the lightweight, large surface area spread that makes it a backyard dream. My kids (read, not me helping my kids) got it to go as high as our tall oak. And I got to work for at least 45 minutes without interruption.

Utter garbage
Bought this as my 4 year olds' first kites and took them to the beach on a windy day for their maiden flight. After some of the reviews on it, just took out the rainbow kite as it was reportedly the easier of the two to fly. It was like trying to wrestle a marlin in the air. Took so much work just to keep it from constantly diving into the ground. A buddy of mine who came with us with his kid was flying their K-MLICE 2021 Easy to Fly Delta kite right next to us and it was like night and day. Theirs went up smoothly and stayed up, stayed straight with minimal effort needed from him. His 4-year old was even able to fly it whereas my 4 y.o and I were getting yanked around like we were trying to tame a stag. After seeing how easy theirs was in exactly the same conditions at the same time, I knew the kites we bought were junk. Threw them in the trash and bought one just like my buddy's. We took our new Delta kite out and it is infinitely better - can't recommend it enough. Don't waste your money on these kites.
