good flavor for assortment of dishes, love the fire roasted options from Ortega
I love the fire roasted line from Ortega. I usually buy the mild, but I went with the hot when I saw it on sale. Adds nice flavor to dishes.Best by dates will vary, and if you got it on steep discount, especially if from the warehouse, then the best by date might be close around the corner. Doesn't mean it goes bad when the clock strikes midnight. Best by dates are just guarantee of quality and freshness. Off hand, I dont recall what the date on mine is. I would not be surprised if it was with in a month because I bought mine from the warehouse. If I remember I will come back to update. No issues, love the flavor, will buy again-- mild or hot. Like them both!

Found it!
Impossible to find HOT chopped green chilies in Hawaii. The Mexican section in any grocery is so small. . . there are so few Mexican restaurants, you have to always make your own. In lieu of finding these, it is strictly grow your own. Glad to find this so I can just open the can and cook. MUST have Mexican 2x a week.worst trauma of moving to Hawaii from Colorado is good Mexican food withdrawl. These really help. I have a subscription for regular delivery.

Not HOT! Barely even Medium.
And that's by Midwest standards. Maybe they can get away with that rating in New England, but sheesh. Means we have to usetwo cans tospice the Cheese Dip.Now imagine if you were using Southwest, eg Hatch, metrics.

Not that hot, our opinion :)
These small cans hold a lot and certainly add flavor, some texture to a dish. Find that aren't that hot.

Not too hot...
These were cheaper than the mild that I use in chicken enchiladas, so I decided to try them and they are fine.
