Finally - a Fairy Mermaid Tale!
Best Fairy Mermaid friends Sandy and Coral head out on a trash patrol when they discover a huge problem: Echo the Bottlenose Dolphin is stuck in a discarded net! To make matters worse, an aggressive tiger shark swims nearby, the perfect ocean predator. Using their wits, wisdom, and a little assistance from a helping claw, Sandy and Coral work to free their friend from the net before it’s too late.“Fairy Mermaids: The Bottlenose Bind” by Shannon and Ryan Mills is an absolutely adorable ocean adventure. My childlike heart was thrilled that someone out there finally realized Fairy Mermaids exist and wrote such a brilliant book about them. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and I loved that Sandy and Coral’s wings and scales change color depending on the sunlight. The message of teamwork and protecting the ocean was strong, but not overbearing, and there are even cool science facts at the end of the book. There were a few characters that had been introduced in previous books, but that in no way detracts from the story. In fact, it simply made me want to read the rest of the series. I also love how the book includes the reader, giving practical advice for anyone who wants to make a difference and protect the environment. Overall, this is a cheerful tale of friends and ocean rescues certain to brighten anyone’s day.A charming story of friends finding a way, this Fairy Mermaid tale earns five out of five stars for its solid message of teamwork and ocean protection. Great for readers 3 and up, this is a brilliant tale to read together on a Sunday afternoon. For all who love fairies, mermaids, and preservation of the planet, this bright and cheerful story is a heartwarming adventure full of magical fun.I received a free review copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Dolphins and Sharks and Mermaids...what could be better?
As with all of this series, the art work is great to look at, and the stories are simple and fun--and who doesn’t like dolphins? I enjoyed this one, but not as much as some of the others in the series. I would have liked to have seen something they did that caused the shark to leave, and I felt it was a little less polished than they others. Still great for children 5 and under. (I doubt they would care about the things I might call out.)The Good:Beautiful Artwork. Fun story for kids. A little bit of learning about the ocean. The Bad:Sharks are cool, and I feel this one should have had a little more attention. I felt as well that it was a little less polished (100 meters away and to the north was a little in the weeds for me).Still another great book to have with children, and would be good at a beach house.
